Civil liberties professor says maybe, just maybe, the BBQ restaurant owner with signs saying he doesn't serve halal or Korean duck is making fun of kneejerk multiculturalism, and is not necessarily a racist monster

What in the holy hell is "kneejerk multiculturalism"? Is that another dog whistle like "political correctness" or what?

I wouldn't, because apparently there was a large enough demand for Korean BBQ and he doesn't have enough business sense to toss a couple ducks on the grill.

Good, so instead of trying to please everyone he will focus on his own BBQ. The result? Product just as he intended.

Meh. I've been thinking of trying the place, but it's just not funny. I'm not particular offended, but I just don't find it 'ha ha' funny and I think he just ends up sounding like a dick.
Besides, there are better restaurants in Hamilton.

As for the sign about Korean barbecue, that was in response to a Korean customer who got angry with Bailey, he said, because his restaurant didn't serve Korean duck.
Uh-huh. Something tells me that the customer innocently asked if he had Korean duck and that he responded with some hillbilly tirade. Who actually gets
angry
when they go to a pizza joint and find they don't have crepes?

I like that he admits it's in an Arab neighborhood, but gets annoyed that people even ask him if his restaurant serves halal meat, because he doesn't want to adapt to meet the majority's cultural standards,,, yet also adds on his sign that his employees all speak English, indicating that he finds it annoying when people don't adapt to the majority's cultural standards.

You aren't terribly smart are you?
Something tells me you've never worked in a service job before.
Furthermore, Korean BBQ at a BBQ joint VS Crepes at a pizza place... I would dearly love for you to draw me a map that connects those dots.

But Evelyn Myrie, executive director of Hamilton's Centre for Civic Inclusion, says the signs at Hillbilly Heaven on Upper James Street are "very offensive and against the principles of diversity and inclusion."
Do blacks earn money from being offended? Or KFC points or something?

Its one thing to clarify what you serve and don't serve but the English sign proves he is a complete ass and a clueless businessman. Still - not against the law.

Mmmm shawarma...... If anyone comes to Aurora CO and loves shawarma make sure you stop by this little joint called Tasty Kabob. It's at the corner of Hampden and Chambers roads, best shawarma I've had outside of the Middle East. It's a tiny little place with like 3 tables, but the food is amazing. Bonus is there's a really good brew joint across the street.

I live a few blocks from Chinatown here in Las Vegas. Despite my harsh diet, I graze there once every three months. There's a Korean BBQ every fifty yards and they just get better and better. There's one place that makes these egg rolls the size of burritos.
I can't figure out this guy's problem with fries is though.

Looking at that photo actually sets off some "racist, white trash" alarms in my mind. If you want to American hillbilly food, that's fine. Put a giant sign in the window about how you're an American place and serve "Texas Style BBQ" or whatever.
The problem is the negative advertising as his lead off. "We don't have...." as opposed "We serve Texas style BBQ". Stick a flag and an eagle in your sign and people will figure it all out without you have to make duck jokes.
/never seen duck as an option at the local Korean BBQ

It's completely racist, but fully within his right to do. If I was a customer, I'd take my business elsewhere. He'dllblame going out of business on being unfairly persecuted, of course, since the point would have screamed past him like an F-16.
