Krugman has already provided a handy tear down of Mitt's entire line of "reasoning" for your reading pleasure.

A church tax? That's voluntary, I mean charity. I knew lots of mormons who couldn't or didn't pay. Try that with the Government.

And if he pays me, I have to add that 50% to *my* rate. I'm getting triple taxed!

Except he doesn't pay me anything at all, so I'm effectively taxed 100% on my wages from Mitt. How can that possibly be fair?

So ... 15% plus 15% .... carry the one ... divide by six ...

I don't want a president who is this easily flustered. It's kind of embarrassing.

I love that people are surprised that he tithes 10% to the church.

"Tithe" means "tenth."

I'd like to thank Mitt for keeping this alive after the news cycle had moved on and was only talking about the SOTU.

You're the Republican front-runner, from a family with decades of political experience, already personally rich beyond the dreams of avarice and now with access to the writers, spinmeisters and consultants of the finest, most ruthless election machine the human race has ever known...and THIS is the kind of asstarded shiat that dribbles out of your spew hole?

Carville summed it up quite nicely earlier this year..

If the prize (GOP winning the election to avoid the utter destruction of America under a second Obama term) were that valuable, why hasn't the candidate supply met the demand?

Barry Goldwater warned of allowing the Religious Right to gain power within the Party. Once that happened, all of this began. Which is unfortunate.

And yes, we should have 2 candidates running for President that would be good choices for governing this country. This year, we won't.

Have you ever considered that it quit being your party?

I at one time was a Republican, I believed in the lowest taxes possible, smart Government spending and Government only intruding where it was truly needed, not here we though it should be ( like the bedroom.)

Then along came the rise of the "Southern Strategy" folks who joined the party after the Dems gained some Sanity.

Know it appears that the Republican Party are ran by Religious Corporatists that think they can still win the Civil War!

So know I am an independent -Also known as a "Lib" socialist, by the new Republicans!

Azlefty: I had thoughts about the Modern Whigs. The TEA Party nonsense sort of killed them and took any momentum out from under them--which, to be fair, was sort of the point. The GOP leadership was scared witless that they would have a Not Crazy alternative to the Libertarians, and one that might gather momentum with veterans.

The TEA Party nonsense killed that momentum.

The party is pretty much forcing me and folks like myself out. Independent is a road that means not really having a candidate to put on the ballot. It would be nice to have a party that represented my interests. Sadly, at this point, given the Crazy Train's influence, they are forcing me to vote against candidates as opposed to voting for folks that I fully endorse.

I guess in the final analysis what we've got from the GOP is a pretty much intentional self-sabotage. They had exactly one person running who was at all sane (Huntsman), and they made sure he didn't gain any traction at all. In fact, by having that huge group of candidates representing the Very Loony wing of the GOP, they pretty much guaranteed another 4 year term for Obama, provided the "dead girl or live boy" issue doesn't show up for him before November. Which is almost unthinkable when you consider that Barack Obama is the poster child for family values in this race.

So the GOP figures...what? Obstruct like crazy for the next four years, tank the economy, sabotage any growth potential, undercut all attempts to fix our infrastructure, filibuster any hint of a tax increase, generally fark over anyone trying to get healthcare, scare foreign corporations away from our shores by keeping us in turmoil, and then in '16, they'll swoop in and create Supply Side Jesusland with the full backing of the American public? Because that really seems to be what their game plan is. And they seem to be utterly ignoring the fact that the people are starting to rise up against their bullshiat. Obama backhanded them into next week at the SOTU, and the frontrunners are still trying to see which of them can most effectively urinate in the other's mouth while screaming like howler monkeys that THEY're the moral voice of the USA.

Personally, I'm almost orgasmic with delight. This is wonderful. The conditions are right for an economic turnaround of Clintonian proportions, and we just may be able to place the full credit for our country's salvation on a mosh pit of poo flinging, masturbating whackaloons.

It's delicious.

Man, Romney pisses me off. I think, deep down, there is a guy that I could respect to a pretty high extent. Not necessarily agree with and almost certainly not vote for, but respect at least in part. Like Huntsman or RON PAUL.

But he is the mostest panderin' flip floppin' power-grubbin' Ego Monster I have ever seen.

shiat, Romney, if you'd run as yourself (if any is left) I think you would breeze into the White House.

The problem is, not even Romney knows who he really is. He's "redefined" himself so many times, he doesn't even know who or what he is today, much less how to even get back to what he was when he started.

The reason I find this truly rich (and not in a monetary fashion) is that he gives his money to a church that, based on its behavior in the Prop 8 fight, should probably be stripped of its tax-exempt status.

There are three heavens and one hell. The three heavens are ranked from most holy to least by their "degrees of glory." The celestial kingdom is the most desirable, and serves as the destination for all those who accept Jesus, are baptized within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (whether before or after death), and remain faithful throughout their lives. People who die before the age of 8, when Mormons are baptized, also go to the celestial kingdom.

I hope Romney is keeping up to date on his church payments.

One of the reasons why we have a lower tax rate on capital gains is because capital gains are also being taxed at the corporate level. So as businesses earn profits, that's taxed at 35 percent, then as they distribute those profits as dividends, that's taxed at 15 percent more. So, all total, the tax rate is really closer to 45 or 50 percent.

OMG then I am being taxed even MORE because the company that pays me my salary already was taxed on that money too!!! And the money they got from people who brought their product were taxed... and the company that paid them were taxed...

DERP! DERP! DERP!!

Really this double tax BS is total BS!!

ANd I bet the company paid nothing on those items because "Carried interest" is normal consider worth ZERO when they are given. So 35% of ZERO is what Mitt??
