And this is news why? Everyone knows that Dodd is a dick and needs to be gone. As a mattar of fact, the MPAA as a whole should be shut down. They wield too much power both in Hollywood and in Washington. With billions being spent by consumers to go see these horrible movies, the MPAA has found a way to run the whole show through what they want the consumers to see.

Woerid you two both have the same strange medical condition where the written word "D E M O C R A T" becomes "L I B E R A L".
You should both check with your local university. I am sure there are some grad students looking for a thesis subject on dyslexia related syndromes.
Also, do you not comprehend the difference between "Hollywood" and "Hollywood Community"? The former would be a reference to the multiple corporate entities that run the industry, and the latter are the people who work in the industry. They are separate, and have competing interests. The latter work for the SAG, and the former hate the SAG.

Um, yeah. Think about why. Making movies involves creativity (inb4 Michael Bay). So movies are typically made by artists and writers. Many of the actors were also once starving students doing nude scenes in Off-Off-Broadway productions to eat ramen. Of course, there are the legacy actors like Jaime Lee Curtis and Jaden Smith, but they're in the minority. Producers also tend to be patrons of the arts. Fans of the fine arts tend to be "elitist intellectuals". Actors also tend to be well read. They're often doing movies that are adaptations of literature, or they have experience in Broadway. Literature broadens your world view and makes you less jingoistic and more culturally relative. This would make them more "elitist" and "intellectual". (note: yes, there are plenty of stupid actors. remember what I said about legacies? also, reality shows don't count)
Another farker mentioned that movie stars know all to well how luck make or break their careers, so they understand that they're only rich because they got lucky. They know that Hollywood isn't anything close to a meritocracy. Whoever has the most money gets their movie made. Whichever movie has the most ubiquitous marketing is more likely to get their movie seen. That means buying as many ad spots as possible, and if you can't afford it, then no one will see your movie.
See, liberals know that most success relies on being in the right place at the right time. Being discovered. Some of the most talented people in the world didn't get recognized until they died penniless. And some terrible people with absolutely no talent got shoved into the spotlight and got rich because they had the money to make it happen (Rebecca Black, Willow Smith). In that case, their luck came from being born to rich parents.
While conservatives believe all success is based entirely on hard work (yes, some people DO get rich from hard work), liberals see the 1 billion children near starvation all around the world because of where they were born (Honduras, Niger, North Korea, Somalia) and know how lucky they were to be born in a first world country.
THAT's why Hollywood tends to be liberal.

Do not piss off Jimmy Wales.
He can have your Wikipedia article declare you dead. And when he declares you dead, you stay dead, unlike, say, Chuck Norris or Abe Vigoda.
Fun facts about Chris Dodd:
* He dyes his eyebrows black.
*He invented Dodd's Little Liver Pills, which have killed more innocent people than Communism.
* He speaks fluent Spanish, albeit with a Domincan accent.
* He is dead to Jimmy Wales.
* His views on gay marriage have evolved over time. Specifically, between the 2008 Election and June 22, 2009, when his daughters beat him up about his views on gay marriage.

The Reality
: SOPA is a draconian, badly-written law that would allow content owners to destroy legitimate websites with little-to-no oversight, and usurp powers normally reserved for the courts. It would destroy sites that rely on fair use and/or user generated content while doing little to actually stop piracy. Content creators and websites that would be adversely affected by this egregious power grab banded together and asked their users to put a stop to this, which they did.

He's totally right.... not that Chris Dodd could give two shiats. Dodd is a good poster boy for what's wrong with our political leadership today. That corrupt motherfarker left Washington in a cloud of his own scandal, and then just returned as the RIAA's official stooge - basically with more direct access to the cash and less oversight than what little he had before. Shameful.
