...Hamlin said, but that will go to purchasing a $273,000 armored BearCat SWAT truck, which would be "used to rescue people in volatile situationshunt down suspected pot smokers and compensate for my tiny wang."

no one needs to suicide-bomb the republican campaign or convention. they're taking care of that themselves.

As someone who had a front row seat for the 2008 DNC, you hardly notice all the barracades, road closures, SUVs with a dozen swat guys hanging off it, the anti-abortion folks with their mobile fetusboards, the anarchist trashing shiat, the obnoxious northeasterners lowering themselves to dealing with you. You hardly notice anything is going on at all.

Ow! That was my feelings!: As someone who had a front row seat for the 2008 DNC, you hardly notice all the barracades, road closures, SUVs with a dozen swat guys hanging off it, the anti-abortion folks with their mobile fetusboards, the anarchist trashing shiat, the obnoxious northeasterners lowering themselves to dealing with you. Because they're off in the "first amendment zones".

Charlotte can't have a SuperBowl because we don't have the hotel infrastructure to host yet somehow the DNC is supposed to work.

"After that there will be 'very little money left for equipment,' Hamlin said, but that will go to purchasing a $273,000 armored BearCat SWAT truck, which would be 'used to rescue people in volatile situations.' Hamlin added that it 'won't be used for patrol or any kind of crowd control.'"

I'm glad I'm on the other side of Tampa Bay.

But Tampa is likely to add eyes to places other than its helicopters. Last Wednesday, six companies submitted proposals to the city for a contract that could be worth up to $2 million to install surveillance cameras in the downtown area, where the conference will be held. According to the Tampa Bay Times, the city received proposals from IBM, Aware Digital, ADT Security Services, Total Recall Corp., CelPlan Technologies and Avrio RMS Group (which supplied cameras for both conventions in 2008).

Yeesh. We still have plenty of 2004-DNC-era cameras up in the Boston area. And what fun it was to walk past cops carrying assault weapons while they jokingly lunged at the occasional passerby in the T station!

I suspect that Drew is somehow responsible.

Think about it. More surveillance cameras in Florida means more videos of Floridians, which means more headlines for Fark.
