At my Elementary School the "kids who wear black" would cut you if you looked at them wrong and then do weird stuff with the blood. So we stayed away from them, funny thing is today they're normal boring middle aged married couples. Except for that one guy but we don't talk about him.

I think there is a certain group that frowns on these shenanigans.

This will do nothing to deter bullying, because the school admins will always refuse to combat the source of the problem, and refuse to punish the kids that perpetuate the behavior.

Also, simple name-calling is one thing. Something that can be ignored or (if you are witty) gives you an excuse to fire back with a retort.

Verbal Harrassment is quite another thing. Being called a "slut" as a offhand insult can be shrugged off. Being told on a daily basis (in one form or another) "You are scum because you are not like perfect little me, and I'll be happy when all of your kind dies." Whether "your kind" refers to a race, sexual orientation, intellect (both high end and low end), or physical handicaps.

Then there is the most vile form of bullying: Physical violence. We like to joke about wedgies, but truth is, that is nothing compared to the number of bullies who, on a daily basis, punch, kick, and beat the shiat out of anyone smaller than them.

I was a victim of the latter. And I can tell with absolute certainty, that most school admins will not be on your side if you are the victim of physical abuse at the hands of a bully. They will find any way they can to blame you, just so they can wash their hands of any responsibility for letting the beatings continue.
