FTA: Melissa is seen caring for her mother and tells the camera: 'Cover at age two was easier to handle than my mother after an operation.'
Does this sentence say what I think it says? She named her son Cover?

I would imagine burial at sea would also be considered pollution. So what's left, shot into space?

That's going to be a death sentence to him if he ever joins the army.

We can just bronze her and set her up permanently by the red carpet.

She was a stand up comedian. Then she had talk show and used to fill in for Donahue. If I recall correctly.

She's like 80. Back then anyone in showbiz with a pulse got to be a celebrity.

Serious question:
I thought she was Jewish. Dont the Jews traditionally bury their loved ones and consider cremation a sin?

Is she trying to become the cat woman? I don't understand how Joan keeps getting gigs to do fashion reporting, etc. She has less fashion/beauty sense than Stevie Wonders.

As opposed to now when anyone not even involved in showbiz is a celebrity?

Remember that scene from Ghostbusters where the containment unit goes critical? I'm thinking a similar sort of reaction would occur in this case.

Considering she gave birth to a horse, it isn't that hard to imagine what she'd look like without all the surgery.

She certainly is Jewish. In fact, that was part of her shtick when she first started, being an unwed Jewess (her phrase) for too long. As for whether she is observant, I have no idea.

No, now you have to know someone or be a reality star. But back then there weren't as many people to know and no reality shows. Today there are thousands of actors, writers and filmmakers who are infinitely more talented than the ones we see who will never make it. Back then it was a lot easier to get into the business.

I agree that aggressive plastic surgery is a lot scarier looking in real life than in photos. My heart will take a jump every time I see a woman like that at the store. Similar to the way you might get a split second heart attack from seeing a burn victim or deformed child, except I don't feel bad for feeling that way afterwards because they did it to themselves.

She was genuinely funny back in her prime.
Don't know why she's still in the public eye nowadays though.
Her Chelsea Handler comments were spot on too.

I've always loved one of her very early jokes....about when she was in the midwest doing a cncert, all the women were wearing linolium dresses. Don't know why that'so funny to me. It brings to mind oilcloth also.
