Any time a journalist bookends a quote with faux outrage - "The Mayor just doesn't get it! And just look at this exchange!

Can you believe that?!" - there's probably more to the story. Otherwise, he wouldn't need to push so hard.

In response to a story about the FBI arresting cops for wholesale violations of the 4th and 5th Amendments, all the derp brigade can focus on is some of the people's names sound 'Messican and they are therefore automatically illegal immigrants who the Obama adminsitration is coddling and protecting from heroic lawmen who know the meaning og the word "illegal"

The town first came into the spotlight in 2009, when a local priest, Father James Manship, was arrested while videotaping police officers allegedly harassing owners of a Latino market. Manship, whose parish is mainly ~~Latino~~ illegal aliens was afraid he would lose out on the money given during Sunday mass and became a loud voice against the town's police department.

While everything about this story is wrong, the fact still remains that we do have a very large illegal immigration problem here in Connecticut, but unfortunately asshat cops like there are doing more to turn the problem into the elephant in the room that you can't talk about without being labeled a racist, rather than a problem you can have a serious discussion about to try and solve.

It is.

New Haven is a Democratic stronghold. It's one of the sanctuary cities in CT, so alot of illegals flock there (that and Stamford). So there's a lot of blue collar blacklash from properties owners and such, expecially when crimes the accused often hightails it out of there for a farm or something in the midwest. This is where that firefighter sued to get the standardized exam scores accepted so whites could be promoted to manager, so now everybody on the department is a farking manager.

Which is why these dipshiat cops need to be cracked down on so we can have that conversation instead of letting them act like a Klan affiliate that believes they're above the law. They don't get to claim their illegal tactics and practices are justified because of the immigration status of some people.

Allowing cops to do whatever the hell they want isn't a solution in any way, shape, or form. They have to obey the law, just like everyone else.

All of this could have been avoided if the cops, you know, didn't falsify an arrest report against a priest who videotaped harassment of Latinos, and didn't pull over every Hispanic they see on the road.

Besides lily white suburban towns like Old Saybrook or Simsbury, most of CT is sanctuary, Is voted by the town councils, It has nothing to do with Mayors/police cheifs.

Much of Connecticut is old-school Democrat. Blue-collar whites yearning for the golden age of labor. You'll get a lot of strong opinions about different ethnic groups from a lot of these voters. You're not just white, you're an Italian or Irish or Polish or Russian or a Jew, if you're not a WASP.

It's not like the Democratic base you get in the huge cities, which is more of a federation between educated elites and racial minorities. You see some of that in New Haven proper, but not in the burbs.
