That video gives no sense of scale. How about giving dimensions or putting it next to something?

I admittedly don't know anything about the business, but they couldn't cut and polish that thing any better?

I've seen other videos of the stone, it is actually about the size of a watermelon

Yeah, that is what I was thinking. So stupid, is it three inches or an inch or 3 feet?

Ugliest looking "cut" I've ever seen, and the gem quality itself is closer to malachite than emerald, thing looks like a big green boulder, cut by an idiot. I would buy it for around $500-$2000.

It really is about the size of a football...far too large to hide in one's pants or anything.

There are reports here, though, that it is really just beryll, the root mineral that causes (?) emeralds, dyed to look more emeraldy. It was apparently appraised by a rookie gemologist, and the seller is pitching a reality TV show about gemologists.

Methinks the fraud is ripe with this one...given the hype thus far.

As bent as the Soviet sickle, and as hard as the hammer that crosses it.

Yes, that's a bad faceting job. It almost looks like it was pulled from a mold of some sort. Bad polish too.

Why did they cut it? It looks like shiat and it's not like you can wear it anyway.

Certainly hasn't cleaved off in nice flat faces, and doesn't show much crystal symmetry. Looks like someone attacked some green marble with a belt sander and a Dremmel.
