Huh? Is the headline referencing the scouting report that he has a tendency to drop the ball? Is this Subby's Examiner account? I mean, that's more than a stretch.

YOU BRING SHAME TO US ALL.

Oh, I see. We were meant to read the comments. Only my desperation at finding your meaning led me to do that unnatural act. Better, but still not impressed.

When I read it, I gather that he did this once already. Nobody should have been shocked.

It really wasn't a prediction of the NFC title game, just that the guy has dumbass tendencies. So many mehs go to subby.

Now if the commenter had said something like "If the 49ers are in the AFC title game, don't count on this guy to come through for you in the clutch, because he will screw the pooch" Then it would have been a damn good prognostication.

So as a 49ers fan I was mad at Kyle williams and I said some nasty things. Then I calmed down and realized 2 things.

1) Football is a team game, one play does not a game make, just like 1 call does not a game make. My baseball coach used to say "fark the refs, we are going to hit the ball, catch the ball and throw the ball and make it so that a blind idiot could make the right call" Just because a bad play happens that play didn't lose you the game, you had tons of other opportunities and failed to blame the 1 fumble over the x dropped passes or bad throws or missed blocks is ridiculous.

2) I've farked up in baseball and other sports and the fact is. I WISH people would tell me how awful I am, because nothing they could possibly say could make me feel worse than I already feel. No amount of outside criticizem could possibly make it any worse then it already is. Your at a place were you just wish a lighting bolt would kill you to relieve you of the shame and embarrassment.

So Kyle I apologize for being a douche. Lets work on getting it next year.

Holy fark, is that page formatting bad.

Saw it last night. The 49ers were extremely healthy all year, except Ted Ginn getting hurt before last game. Pity.

Yeah, that would be something. I mean if someone predicts the 49ers would move to the AFC that's quite a prognostication.

from the comments:

Get ready to have your hearts in your throat whenever Williams is on the field, Niner fans. This dude is so unpredictable and takes crazy chances with the ball. He lacks concentration and drops and fumbles more passes and punt returns in important situations than anyone I've ever seen. In fact his very last play of his ASU career was a fumbled punt return in the biggest game of the year vs our rival Univ of AZ. The score was tied just a minute or so on the clock. U of A was punting. Everyone's thinking o.t.. All he had to do was catch the ball and take a knee or run it a few yards. But no, he wanted to be a hero and already had his mind running up the field before he even caught the ball. It went right through his hands, bounced off his leg and U of A recovered it. They went on to score a FG. Game & season over! Fans left stunned! Williams is very inconsistent. It doesn't matter if he runs a 4 flat you got to have the ball in your hands first! He can go from hero to zero in 4.3 too.

To be fair, screwing things up runs in the family. See Kenny Williams, Chicago White Sox.

So is the goodwill and leash from the 2005 championship officially gone? At least Sox fans have seen one more championship in their lifetime I (Cubs fan) have.

Isn't the NFL Draft in April or May? Why does that comment say it was from a year ago?

Yeah, that article was posted 9 months ago yet the comment is from a year ago? That's some big rounding.

Yeah, same here. I always figure Examiner "articles" are just someone else's worked embedded in a page. No penny for my click.

Unless that play is you giving the other team the ball right in front of your end zone in sudden-death overtime. That kinda did make the game. No need to apologize for being mad about it, but...

Don't forget the other "one play" where he let the ball hit him in the knee giving the Giants the ball deep in SF territory as well and leading to a TD rather than SF having the ball and running more time off the clock...heck maybe even scoring (not likely).

Yes, one or two plays by one person can cost a team a football game. So can a bad call. Those that claim they can't are complete idiots.

So your saying that if the ball didn't hit the knee then the game is won for sure? Even though everything after would have been completely different? Your saying there is no way a 3rd down conversion would have done anything, nope its those 2 plays everything else that happened during the game was completely irrelevant.

/you sound like you never played team sports.

Nope, I can't say the Giants would not have won without the muff, but it would have been a lot less likely based on how the game was playing out. i can't say they Giants would not have won in overtime without the fumbled punt either. But are you saying neither of those plays hurt San Francisco's win probability a lot?

/you sound like one of those idiots I was referring to

Fumbling is an individual action. Football coaches pretty much universally agree turnovers are critical.

I would believe that was a 'typo' if:

1. A was anywhere near N on the keyboard

2. You weren't living in Texas

For some reason Texans have this football superiority complex when they are generally ignorant farks.

Dunning-Kruger is rampant within Texas football culture.

The point is, that the refs don't make the game, the players do. If you hit, throw and catch well the refs can't make you lose the game so involve them as little as possible.

srhp29 apparently missed that there was an entire football game going on aside from 2 plays. I mean hell if 2 plays decides the game every football game should just be 2 plays, whoever had the best 2 plays wins the game! I mean that's what your saying right? Nothing else mattered but those 2 plays.

That's like saying that because an election ended with one candidate winning by a total of two votes, clearly they should just have two people vote because their opinions are the only two that mattered.

No, two plays aren't the only plays in the game, but some are more important than others, and this is largely dictated by the results of those plays.

One guy being responsible for the only two turnovers in a game is HUGE, especially when it's a guy who had his hands on the ball maybe 10 times throughout the game. That's an amazingly bad performance, and yes, he cost his team the game - especially when you consider the situation of a punt, which is the equivalent for a defense to running full speed on a treadmill, jumping off the belt because you think you're done, then as you're getting a drink of water, someone pushes you back on the belt before you've slowed it down. You're not in a mental or physical position to come back out and be where you want to be.
