What about urban roadrunners?

They have a form for you to fill out if you spot a coyote? That's nice. You can waste your time and some bureaucratic desk jockey's at the same time. Then they can track coyote sightings and continue to do nothing about it.

But they will know they exist and knowing is half the battle.

FTFA: "So we have to keep our pets inside. We have to be careful when we're walking our small dogs at sunrise or at sunset. If you've got ducks or geese or chickens, you've got to be able to put them away in a proper timing. Otherwise what we're doing is we're just feeding the environment for them and come and harass you," said Zuelsdorf.

Cloudchaser Sakonige the Red Wolf: I wonder how many of those who are opposed to killing off coyotes in areas that do not include their natural non-mankind influenced range are just fine with setting rat traps, using bugspray, etc.

Yeah, they're cute allright. Especially when they're killing your cat

We lost two calves this year. The coyotes wait until the cows are ready to calf. They pounce as soon as the calf comes out. We had a bounty hunter knocking them off for a month or so. DNR said there was probably a food source, and lo and behold there's a Perdue turkey farm right down the road. They're a nuisance and need to be driven from where domesticated animals and livestock exist back into the wild.

But they are incredibly crafty.

Just put an Acme sales catalog & a cell phone in the cemetery, problem solved.

Wildlife is learning to survive in the city. We have a family of coyotes living downtown in a cemetery. I have seen coyotes in my backyard in the morning on garbage day. My niece chased off a couple of coyotes that were sneaking up on her dog and she also has a problem with bald eagles dive bombing her dog.

Bunny screams make a great call to attract coyotes. An authentic 'really good' bunny scream will make the hair on your arms stand at attention...Clarice.

Yep. We here in Claremont began getting coyotes out of the north hills about 40 years ago. Now they are at the extreme south end of the city, living in the cemetary. They live there--my wife has seen them while walking her Rottweiller (I'm very curious what one would call a coyote-Rottweiller mix: cottweiller? Royote? I must find out some time).
