Did he rape the fan and charge him $6.5 million for services rendered? Ohhhhhhhhhh.... no. That would be the owners AND fans.

Regardless of how poorly he's been playing, and how old this news is, I like Chad because he does stuff like this.

Chad Ochocinco is still in the NFL?!?!

2012-01-24 09:07:41 PM
It's good to see Ochocinco finally get play on a real NFL team.

Two out of three ain't bad. Just think of what you could do with a free hotel room and baptism.

basemetal: It's good to see Ochocinco finally get play on a real NFL team.

Really? Who's he playing for? I know he's been on the Pats' roster, but I haven't heard of him actually playing.

The Pats played the Broncos in the AFC Divisional game. They played the Ravens in the Championship game.

I heard about this last week before the game. Were we waiting to make sure he actually did it before we greened a story about it?

Chad didn't play that game. His dad died and he attended the funeral.

Oh yeah, I hadn't thought about that part. So he flew out this follower to a game that he ended up missing.

No, it was the AFC Divisional game, not the AFC Championship game.

Chad gave some fan his ticket? That's awesome. Now Chad has to go to some bar to watch the game.

I bet the Pats make him inactive for the SB

I never understood the hate for this man. There is nothing not to like about him.

Constant entertainment and all around nice person.

I agree. But, it's not just fans. I've never seen one guy be on the receiving end of more cheap shots.

When he played for the Bengals he used to show up early and hang out with tailgaters. A couple of my friends played cornhole with him a few years ago. I know he can be a prima donna but from a fan's perspective, this is what the NFL needs more of.

Then Ben Roethlisberger goes and plays cornhole with a fan or two, and everyone wants to press charges. Some people can't win.

He's attempting to say, albeit in a clumsy fashion, that the game Chad flew the fan out to see was the Patriot's AFC Divisional game against the Broncos. Subby erroneously reported that it was the AFC Championship game against the Ravens. The story is already well over a week old.

I follow him on twitter and read this right after he posted it. Pretty awesome for the follower. He says he reads every message that people send him. With 3 million followers, that's gotta be a lot of messages. A couple days ago, he was driving around Foxboro, bored, and asked if anyone wanted to hang out. Seems like a cool guy. When he played for the Bangals, he heard that a game was going to be blacked on tv and tried to buy the remainder of the tickets to lift the blackout.

/is out for the Super Bowl, inactive I believe

I'm not saying he won't be inactive for the Super Bowl, but the team isn't required to announce their active/inactive players until game day. The same person who can get an early list of inactive players from Belichick is the same person who can get a detailed description of Gronk's ankle from him too. It's just not going to happen.

Old story or not, I didn't know about it until the Fark link today. I wish Ocho Cinco was more of a force on the Patriots but I would be very happy to see him get a Super Bowl ring anyways. It's disappointing to not know why he was never in sync with the offense/Tom Brady.

He's actually done this before, albeit because he felt guilty about his own jackassism. And the recipient politely declined.

Actually, yes, I WOULD be surprised.

Chad has an entertainment career waiting ahead of him. Unlike guys like TO, people do actually like him.

Here's the difference between Ocho and TO in a nutshell (since they were on TV together, and they get compared a lot):

TO has been called a clubhouse cancer many times. He has big public contract battles. Likes to be outrageous on the field. Amazing talent in his prime, but couldn't stick on a team for long before the act wore thin.

Ocho tried to get traded in '08 but then showed up for camp and went back to work. He changed his name. Played on one team for a decade, then finally went to another team this year. Other players have nothing bad to say about him, but even though he's been just a bit part in NE he hasn't made waves and has nothing bad to say about it. In his prime he was noted for touchdown antics.

I think basically the difference is that despite the Twitter use and the end zone celebrations, Ocho is basically a decent guy who enjoys football and has fun. And it comes through, which is why people like him.

And I think that TO, despite his immense talent, never really had fun on the field.
