Good for the girl. The article, however, was horribly written.

"They did ask where I lived and my number, and I had to tell them what kind of house and I had to stand outside on the lawn and I saw the ambulance coming."

So they told a 7 year old girl who was de facto by herself to go outside where she could have been snatched by some sicko?

I know if my Mom didn't respond to being smacked upside the head with a slice of pizza, it was time to call 911

/come to think of it, if she did respond to it, it was time to call 911

Hmm, I'm leaning more to Hero Tag as opposed to Florida Tag.

/Florida Tag must have hit Hero Tag with a slice of pizza

I got a small blister on my finger due to hot sauce flying up from cutting my pizza last night and am getting a kick out of these replies.

A guy tried to stab me with a slice of pizza once,....once.

Seriously, he was locked up after he stabbed his boss with a knife.

lucky he was holding pizza when he got mad at me.

I could never walk my mom up either, should I be concerned?

No. Worse the guy didn't remember trying to stab me. I don't know if he remembered stabbing his boss.

Seems to me in Florida, slapping one's mom with a piece of pizza is probably par for the course to determine state of consciousness.

"911"
"My mommy won't wake up"
"OK, did you slap her with a piece of pizza?"
"Yes."
"OK, the firemen are on their way."

"electrocuted" means that the person died. If you don't die, you were just shocked.

The odds of that happening are about the same as the chances of her getting hit by lightning in the few minutes it took for the ambulance to get there.

Where the fark do you live? Is this the sort of thing you actually have to think about? Or are you just one of those types... you know, the ones that once heard about something bad that happened to the neighbor's dad's kid sister, and has therefore spent the rest of your life in abject terror?

Because you need to get your world view together. Or you need to take a walk through an ACTUAL bad neighborhood, so you can learn the difference between the (sub)urban paradise you actually live in, and the type of place where little girls are snatched off the street on a regular basis. I hear mexico is nice this time of year.

So what? I always make her stand out on the lawn while I slap her mother with a piece of pizza. We call that Thursday Night.

I know, it was a joke.

Kahabut: Where the fark do you live?

Not in the best or worst neighborhood. I've lived in what they call the War Zone in Albuquerque, or at least they did when I lived there. Like I said, I was joking using hyperbole.

RandomAxe: So what? I always make her stand out on the lawn while I slap her mother with a piece of pizza. We call that Thursday Night.

Funny pizza related incident. (new window)

You don't notice the pizza flying across your screen, but they do a couple replays and break down the whole play.

120 volts at 50 amps

So.. she had an internal resistance of 2.4 Ohms?

/Electricity, how does it work?
//So many things wrong with that statement

I saved a kids life on Assateague Island in Maryland years ago...he went into a violent surf after a storm had come up the coast. I heard and saw his mom running up the beach, yelling. He couldn't get back to the beach because the waves were breaking right on shore, and I'm talking 6-8 foot waves. Idiot mom let him go in. The poor kid, maybe 10 yrs old, shouldn't have been in the water to begin with. Went in, brought him out, and later he thanked me for saving his life. Mom? Not a friekin thank you or anything. Not that I was looking for it, but it would have been nice. I told that kid" you see that water out there, respect it and you'll live to see tomorrow".

Just sayin......

I've heard from more than one lifeguard that an astonishing number of people who have just been saved or whose loved ones have just been saved don't bother to say "thank you."

If she hit an incoming line ( those ase usually insulated) and was grounded real good, and had an internal resistance of 2.4 ohms, she probably would have produced about 8000 lumens for a short time.. smoke volume and lumen output would have depended on her fat content...

"When that pizza didn't wake her mom, she knew she had to get help."

The ol' deep-dish smackdown is a time-honored litmus test for a medical emergency...

My friend actually was an editor for those.

I thought it was a waste of perfectly good pizza.
