Hey morons, pay attention to the road before you kill someone. And no, I'm not talking to the girls.

Mentat: Hey morons, pay attention to the road before you kill someone. And no, I'm not talking to the girls.

This. Icy conditions, and you're looking backwards to gawk at another idiot?

Call the cops and be done with it. The person driving in the middle ground could have easily swerved right into you and nominated your stupid video for a Darwin award.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot

she sure was making good time down the snow covered median, though. And impressive air on that last hit.

You have no idea how much they salt the roads around here, do you?

But yeah, I do hope there was a call into the troopers. I'd like to see how it ended.

They ought to put the video up with the dudes laughing at her and make sure his screenname was visible.

Yeah, woman blacked out. Luckily she didn't drive into oncoming traffic.

Well then, hate to be the one to say it, she should have her license revoked.
Clearly she's not managing her medical condition well and she is putting the general public in danger.

Sadly her medical condition could have deteriorated with out her being aware of it. After this incident, she probabbly won't be able to drive.

It's like my uncle who found out he had alzheimers when he dropped off his grandaughter at school and couldn't remember how to get home, which was three blocks away.

Actually, in most states, an episode of diabetic shock or an epileptic seizure will result in your license being automatically suspended for six months of treatment during which you have no further episodes. It would be unfair to permanently revoke someone's license for a treatable medical condition that they didn't know about, but it's reasonable to have a safety period while they get medicated and stabilized.

Why are we calling hypoglycemia a "diabetic emergency"? That phrase isn't vague enough to hide the details of what was actually going on, but it's just uninformative enough to be obnoxious.

CSB:

Driving down through Georgia, once, on my way to Florida. Stopped to get gas in Dalton. This Cadillac comes plowing through - takes out two of the three stop light arrays at a 3-way stop, rear ends the car in front of it, drives down the road, almost hits a pedestrian, tries to drive the wrong way up a Taco Bell drive thru, then ultimately gets stopped in the Taco Bell parking lot.

Yup, old lady having a medical emergency. Damndest thing I've ever seen, though.

Something like this happened when was sitting in History class. Was gazing out the window and along comes this speeding pickup that does a diagonal right into the facilities building. at about 30 mph or so.. luck it was not straight on.

You could see inside after the accident and the dude was still shaking from a seizure... or epileptic fit.

freaky.

If that's not great publicity for a Rio I don't know what is.

Not bad considering it's a 2 wheel drive little car and it took a lot of beating. That last jump was pretty impressive

A girl I knew went on a date with some guy. He did this on the way home at about 3 a.m. on I-35.
By the looks of it, he launched his pick-up off a median road embankment at highway speed. They landed radiator first and died.

Marshall Willenholly: Yeah, woman blacked out. Luckily she didn't drive into oncoming traffic.

Thank the safety engineers who got medians into highway standards. When I drive rural interstates surrounded by farmland I'm often struck by the fact that the total right-of-way from fence to fence is really pretty damn wide, setting aside a lot of land for no purpose but creating space for out-of-control vehicles to crash without taking anybody else with them.

I'm rather disappointed a bunch of people would be laughing at somebody who, for any reason at all, be it a medical emergency or on purpose, is a mere swerve from killing any innocent drivers from a single driver to a minivan full of kids in the oncoming lane.

What is amusing about that?

everyone is probably a mere swerve away from hitting a minivan full of kids in the an on coming lane at least once a day.

Yeah, I never seem them in time to cross the line and wipe out the minivan, though...

What mystifies me is the fact that the vehicle was obviously running under cruise control, but it never disengaged when the wheels lost traction due to the snow/ice or going airborne. My 12 year old Grand Prix will instantly disengage the cruise if the drive wheels spin freely due to any sort of road anomaly.

Why didn't this vehicle, which almost certainly was made in the past ten years? I would think that it would be some sort of safety feature built in to most modern vehicles. Or am I just naive?

First, my CSB:

I was driving along once on a two lane expressway and out of nowhere this old Chevy Blazer comes ripping past everybody in the line of traffic (I was doing probably 70 and he rocked my car with the wind he created), suddenly cuts straight across the right lane, keeps going off the road and a good ten feet up an embankment on the side, drives along it for a good hundred feet like he's taking a bank in NASCAR and then slams back down into the right lane and lays on his brakes. He got off at the very next exit very slowly.

I don't know if he fell asleep or what, but if he hadn't been going as fast as he was he probably would have hit that embankment and, instead of being able to drive sideways on it for as long as he did, fallen off and rolled sideways back into traffic. Craziest damn thing I've ever seen.

InfrasonicTom: Did these einsteins even bother to call 911 with phone they used to video this event?

From Actual Farking's link:

Lucas told abc27 other drivers were out of the cars helping push her out of the median, when she took off again. He said he began filming because he believed she was trying to flee police, who were already on scene.

Sounds like she crashed into the median and, nobody, including the cops, realized what was going on it was too late. Sound like they tried to help her get back on the road assuming she just slid off because of the conditions, and then she went into shock and took off down the median.

Sounds more like a clusterfark of unfortunate circumstances than anybody did anything particulary stupid. Except maybe the guy driving along in the fog and ice staring out his side window recording the event....
