I would love for someone in a debate to tell Newt to settle down and go sit in the back of the plane just to watch him turn red.

Newt might be a pathologically lying, serial adultering, pompous bag of douche with messianic delusions of grandeur, but this shows that he is basically a petulant little boy who makes Eric Cartman look civilized.

You know who else got off on large crowds of vocal supporters cheering him on while he was in a full-on spittle-flecked apoplectic fit of rage?

So... what happens at the next NBC debate?

Brian Williams: "Newt Gingrich was invited, but turned down making an appearance because he is opposed to civil discourse on its own merits. Senators Paul and Santorum, would you like to belittle him for a moment? Gov Romney will then be given an extra 20 seconds to imply he's dropped out of the race and focus instead on Obama."

You know those people on the first two weeks of American Idol who have absolutely no ability to assess their own talents, who show up and completely blow the audition, are tone deaf, ugly and quite out of touch with reality, who then respond to criticism with outright rage?

Newt Gingrich is that person, but in US politics. We should all be ashamed that a person like him EVER arrived in Washington, and that there are 300 clones of him currently serving in Congress right now.

So does this give people permission to show up to any of his speaking engagements and heckle use their free speech rights without the fear of being escorted out of the building?

nevirus: So Newt is the fat white guy that has multiple marriages and rants about liberal conspiracies into microphones, Mitt is the ultra-wealthy guy who never had to worry about anything and fights to lower his own taxes, and Santorum is the hyper-religious guy who wants to inject his religious morality into law.

It's as if the Republicans identified their caricatures and sought them out as presidential candidates. It reads like a lazy SNL skit of stereotypical Republicans.

SNL, even in the height of the Dana Carvey years, could NEVER produce the sheer volume of lols that this wankfest has done.

Gingrich played by Norm MacDonald the year before he was fired from the show, Santorum played by special guest Dan Savage...

How's he supposed to work up a good retarded tirade - a tardrade, if you will - without a bunch of spittle-flecked morons cheering him on?

by that point it would have been too late; you almost certainly would have been liberal indoctrinated by then.

First Submitter, that is the worst point you could make. I'm astounded at your brazen lack of morality and character. I'm appalled and ashamed of America today because of your pompous and outrageous characterization of Mr. Gingrich. I'm unbelievably distraught at the (checks thesaurus) bewildering bounty of blusterous vitriolic, and downright stupifying....wait...what was the question again?

he does realize the "media" is not a government agent, and therefore the media's rules about whether or not you can applaud at a private event are not rules that would constitute a violation of anyone's "free speech" as that term is understood from a constitutional perspective, right?

i mean, if this guy is a credible candidate for federal office, he should know that right?
