Very.

Hrm. Always called it 'doorbell-ditching' rather than that. Took me a second since I immediately started thinking of witches and munchkins.

Well instead of ringing the bell, he should've knocked.

Calling your husband to come out and kick the little douchebags ass up and down the street would have been more proper, but, now everyone in town thinks you're crazy, and wont likely mess with you or your home anymore. Bet that kid about shiat himself when she ran out firing. Heh.

I'll play along and chase them, sure. What's the fun of DDD if no one even comes out? But I've never chased them with a gun, or even a hatchet, tempting as that may be.

Also because the person would be arrested and most likely charged with assault and battery, with potential extra charges if the victim was younger than 18.

I have no idea why.

The second she pointed that gun at the kid she deserved to die.

Kids still do this? That's good I guess vs 99% of the youth today glued to the boob toob or hyperlinks.

The best response is to sneak out the back door and flank them. Usually snotty little kids get real timid and apologetic if you suddenly appear behind them and scream.

I wouldn't know. I mean, sometimes my doorbell rings, but I'd have to get off the Internet to open it. Maybe it was kids, maybe it wasn't. Who really knows these things?

T.M.S.: The second she pointed that gun at the kid she deserved to die.

Kids are annoying as hell but pointing a loaded weapon at someone that you don't intend to kill is stupid. She should lose her license to own a firearm at the least.

2012-01-24 01:58:26 PM
I bet these charges get dropped completely. And rightfully so.

2012-01-24 02:00:06 PM
never did this, but we used to go out onto the side of the road and simulate a gang beating when a car was driving by. we would all be gathered around someone throwing fake punches and what not. got some pretty good reactions. once, a guy in a Camero saw us and flipped a biatch at high speed in the middle of the street, then peeled towards us, before getting out and chasing us on foot into the forest.

She is guilty of attempted murder. She belongs in jail for a very long time.

we called it something decidedly worse. N*bomb* knocking. not sure why either. just remember hearing a buddy call it that and figured 'ok' - was too young to even know what it meant, but it was fun to knock and run off and giggle.

T.M.S.: She is guilty of attempted murder.

She hasn't been convicted, so she's not guilty.

She also isn't charged with attempted murder. She's charged with menacing, reckless endangerment and unlawful use of a weapon.

I'm assuming she will be found guilty of all three, if not at least menacing and unlawful use of a weapon.

nopokerface: I bet these charges get dropped completely.

I would bet this is rather incorrect. It'll be hard for her to not be found guilty of, at the very minimum, unlawful use of a weapon.

RhineStoneTaco: I'm assuming she will be found guilty of all three, if not at least menacing and unlawful use of a weapon.

Unless she has a permit for the gun (and since this is NY, we know the answer to that) she will probably be convicted of unlawful use of a weapon. The rest gets dropped. I'll bet a month on it.

Hopefully she has not reproduced. If she has, off to the State with her children then stitch her wah-wah closed. Before they drop her off at the clink for an undetermined length stay, surgically remove both her trigger fingers for good measure.

Some of it will depend on her previous arrest record.

I won't take the bet, though, because my original intention was simply to correct the hyperbole of "all charges will be dropped." And it did, because, as you pointed out, it'll be darn hard for her to get out of the unlawful use of a weapon charge.

Right, the charge that has nothing to do with her conduct in the case, but instead is based on NY anti-gun mentality.

Csb.

Shortly after moving into my current place, my wife and i were awoken three times on different nights at like 1:30-2:00 in the morning. I'm a heavy sleeper, but my wife who gets up early for work was running out of patience fast.

About a week later the bell rang at 3am and she was out of bed like lightning. Plenty of time to watch 4 buys around the age of 8th graders run across the street up a driveway and around a neighbors place.

I had a good time the next morning strolling over at 7:45 to ring the bell and wake up dad. He looked pretty sleepy himself. Explained what happened and that I understood they were just being kids and trying to have fun, but that it had to stop. He assured me it would, apparently they had a sleepover.

The next day I got a knock in the afternoon. A young man was there, looking very sheepish and apologizing for ringing my doorbell and causing a disturbance for us. I said no big deal and that I appreciated the apology.

First time I felt really old.....

Jesus christ, this is one of the most harmless thing kids can do that qualifies as mischief. If you act like a farking psycho about this kind of stuff, don't be surprised when your house burns down.

She'd be pretty hot for 37.

She just needs to make those eyebrows even. Luckily the cholas she'll meet in prison can help her out with that.

I guess it depends...how often does the kid do it? Article says three times, but that may only reflect how many that day. If this was something that happened over and over again, she could easily have shot the kid and claimed he tried to mug her outside her door. Prove her wrong...

/not saying i would have done the same thing...
//my revenge would have likely come in the form of a good dose of electricity wired to that doorbell. Go ahead and ring it again ya twerp.

This "kid" was 17, not 7. How can she know what his intentions are by repeatedly coming to her door? Better safe than sorry. I hope my wife would do the same.

nopokerface: Right, the charge that has nothing to do with her conduct

She will also, most likely, have a hard time getting out of the menacing charge. That's simply my unprofessional opinion, though. If she made any threat or mention of using her gun to harm the child, she's going to have a problem with that.

The endangerment charge is the weakest. At least in my opinion.
