"But one city worker, who didn't want to be identified, put the blame on nearby school officials.

"Regardless of who painted it, someone from the school should have been outside supervising, or noticed it by now," the city worker said. "This is sloppy work.""

Seriously? What school district has staff with enough spare time to go around supervising road crews? What a retard.

I can't wait to read from the follow-up:
one nearby school official, who didn't want to be identified, but the blame on themselves.

"To think that this august institution was entrusted with the education of the person who painted this abomination... we have obviously failed."

/take a guess how many typos I made...

Why can't our illegal immigrants spell properly?

I wouldn't be surprised if some Faux Snews-watching, NY Post-reading, Sarah Palin-fan Teabagger asshat working for the utility put the sign in front of the school on purpose just to make the city look bad. Of course, the Post - and the morons that read it - blames the school, even though the school has nothing to do with maintaining traffic signage and never did.

This. Why the fark is everybody blaming the school for this? Yeah, it's funny they didn't notice it and report it, but they have more important shiat to do inside the actual school than be out observing/supervising/whatever road crews. Their jobs are to teach and supervise kids, not moran adults.

Mikey1969 ... Teen Wolf Blitzer: I don't get it. Isn't it supposed be written in reverse, so you can seen it when you're driving? Like "ambulance"?

??? Does your mirror point at the ground or something?

Well it might make sense when you look back in your mirror to wonder what those noisey speed bumps were about.

Mugato: That's what you get when you hire a Tea Partier to paint your sign. Morans.

/the school has their own X-Wing?
//man, my school sucked

Tea Partier? More likely some knuckle-dragging union puke who can't be fired no matter how miserable a job he does. Outside of the spelling, that paint job looks like it was done by a spastic chimpanzee.

I have a friend who is a music/drama teacher. She had a couple of students who hated her guts, took white paint, and painted the word "BICTH!" on the performance stage. She definitely got a giggle out of it.

nklb: And no one thinks this may simply be a dyslexic mistake rather than a "stupidity" mistake?

I'm not convinced it's a spelling error in the first place. It seems like it could just be carelessness and not placing the stencils in the proper order. It isn't the same as writing the word out and seeing it as a whole. You focus on one letter for the 10 minutes or so it takes to paint it then move on to the next. Unless you take you time and step back to look at the whole picture once in a while this type of mistake can easily happen.

Not really an issue of poor education or inability to spell

I tried this with my girlfriend once. I said hey, the nightclub was crowded and it was dark and I was fixated on what I thought were YOUR boobs for like 20 minutes but had I taken a step back and noticed they weren't yours, I never would have been massaging them and making out with the chick attached to them.

Didn't work.

Dude, you misspelled Australopithecine. That's 10 more minutes in timeout. My point was that in your zeal to rag on the Tea Party folks, you completely fouled up most of your points. The Post didn't blame the School and neither did a Post reader. Furthermore, your little caper theory is a little far-fetched - but given the mental capabilities of the union guys we're talking about here, it's probably a little more likely than I think.
