2001-11-09 12:49:39 AM
Uh, okay, that's actually kinda disturbing.

Are there any other collectors on Fark?

I have most of 1st and 2nd gen, some Diaclones and other pre-Transformers on my shelves above my computers. These toys rock. These and Voltron, Macross and other Popy toys still 0wn all after 20-25 years. They just don't make them like they used to.

2001-11-09 12:52:44 AM
I have a starscream and a soundwave on my bookshelf and 1 shockwave transformer with the box that i am gonna sel on ebay. Unless someone here makes me a good offer.

2001-11-09 03:45:12 AM
If you think about it, that's very creative, and he could haul in a shiatload of cabbage finding a way to produce alot of those and marketing them well. Me, I'm sellin' Future Man costumes next year.

2001-11-09 03:46:33 AM
Sweet... sweet... suhweeeeet! But for some reason, I only saw it an hour ago, yet I don't feel full. Go figure.

Nanookanano: Full contact origami!

That's pure poetry, man! I tip my hat to you (which transforms into a wok or something...)

I don't know what to make of this guy. On the one hand, I think the obvious: "You need to get a life, dude!" I mean, a 29-year-old man spent a year on emulating a cartoon meant for kiddies?

On the other hand, I really have to hand to him: I don't think I could have done it. I think I have good spacial visualization, but not to that extent. I'm impressed that he made it all work so well.

I'm not entirely clear on the back-story behind the Transformers. As best I can figure it out, sometimes they want to be death-dealing robots, but sometimes they want to look like a Hyundai. What's that all about?

But I suppose there's weirder stuff out there. I briefly watched a show where you have robots that transform into animals. The big question that pops into my mind is "WHY!?!?"

I shouldn't scoff, however. When I was a young tad, I used to watch ... ooo, I can hardly bring myself to admit this ... Rocket Robin Hood. With the possible exception of "The Mighty Hercules", RRH has got to be the very worst show in animation history for its sheer repetitiveness and lack of logic. Moreover, the animation was only slightly better than "Space Angel" or "Clutch Cargo" -- have any of you experienced those abominations?

That is the most amazing thing I've ever seen!

2001-11-09 08:56:24 AM
Now show us the ten Lara Crofts!

2001-11-09 08:56:36 AM
I'll second that sentiment, Rasputin.

2001-11-09 08:57:35 AM
hmm....what sort of person would pick a name like rasputin? ::raises eyebrow::

2001-11-09 09:04:35 AM
Damn...that's scary...yet cool.
Yes, I had most of the original Transformers. I think I still have quite a few of them in a box back at my parents' house.

2001-11-09 09:10:09 AM

2001-11-09 09:12:33 AM

This just in: After this was submitted, the various fandoms were re-evaluated based on the Parent's Basement/Kissed a Girl algorythm. Here are the new standings, for the 10 least socially acceptable fan groups:

10. Star Wars Fans
9. Anime Fans
8. Star Trek Fans
7. Comic Book Fans
6. Highlander Fans
5. Disney Animation Fans
4. Dr. Who Fans
3. Pokemon/Digimon Fans
2. Furry Fans

and the new #1
Transformers Fans

(PS: If you're thinking of flaming me for this sad little joke because I bashed your fandom, you may qualify to join a group even lower in this list than your current fan group. "You can do it! Get the power-up and win the game!" - Cliff Yablonski)

2001-11-09 09:25:42 AM
damn some guy, you just trampled my self esteem because I'm a member of about 5 of those groups.

2001-11-09 09:29:55 AM
w00t! Only a member of 4!

2001-11-09 09:30:37 AM
maybe thats why I've never kissed a girl...

either that or I just don't like girls in that way =P

2001-11-09 09:33:38 AM
Ah, I'm only at 4 as well...

2001-11-09 09:42:13 AM
Not to worry. The list only applies to hard-core fans. I'm not even sure it's possible to be a member of more than one on the hard-core level without your fan-dogma getting in the way. :)

2001-11-09 09:46:33 AM
W00t! We're #1!!!!!!

2001-11-09 10:29:35 AM

2001-11-09 10:34:54 AM
Put me in the loser pile, I've been to 5 Botcons (national Transformers convention),I have over 300 Transformers, BUT I live on my own and have kissed many girls, so...what the hell does that make me?

2001-11-09 10:47:12 AM
OK, so I'm not a hard-core fan of any of those. I don't belong to any fanclubs, nor have I been to any gatherings. I guess that just makes me a mild dork. I'm completely OK with that.

Fumanshu -
You need a fact-checker for your bio. That little number doesn't mean what you think.
