Funny the article doesn't mention their Dragonboat team - at least that's what me and a lot of people know them for!

From experience, these guys paddle like the Chinese and drink like the Scottish, great guys and girls and always a good time.

Just found out the other day that in Mandarin it's "Gong Xi Fa Cai", though written the same in Chinese of course. Never heard that before, even with the more recent influx of mainland China and Taiwan immigrants into Vancouver.

It's a funny name. And to be frank, it's just ok. Most of the times I've had it it's salted all to hell, so that's what sticks out the most in my mind.

I think it's kinda funny how many people "hate" haggis and yet have never actually tried it. You really should try it. You might like it and if you don't what's one bad meal out of your whole life? Chances are you already had more than one bad meal.

One of my Scottish buddies today was saying that someone at the robbie burns party he was at over the weekend did a reading that was a reinterpretation of a Burns work as an ode to takeout curry. I heard it was brilliant, wish I had more details.

Why do people hate on haggis? It is far from the worst food I have ever tried. It is basically like meatloaf with some oatmeal in it. Yes, the meat contains some organ meat, and it is cooked in a casing. But you don't eat the casing and if you are scared of organ meat don't ever eat sausage again. Really, I always rather liked haggis when I have had it.
