Cool, but I'll raise you the Calcutta Scottish, subby.

The Germans must have fled in terror at the thought of curried haggis.

Won Ton filling usually doesn't have oats in it.

Based on my porn viewing, Chinese women definitely enjoy Fat Choy Haggis.

Hmmm... "Wonton Haggis" would be a great name for a band.

I've been meaning to make those for the longest time. I'm frightened of the calorie count, to be honest.

But if you keep them separate you can do twice the feasting.

Funny the article doesn't mention their Dragonboat team - at least that's what me and a lot of people know them for!

From experience, these guys paddle like the Chinese and drink like the Scottish, great guys and girls and always a good time.

Multiculturalism is a good thing if it means more Exotic women who throw themselves at us white men, and more minority men to boss around at work

That is an interesting mix... Scottish and Asian. Wonder which genes dominate.

So an hour after you puke up the haggis, you want to puke it up again?

Considering some of the components of Asian cuisine, haggis fits right in.

Entire academic careers were built on multiculturalism. But that bus has sailed.

Just found out the other day that in Mandarin it's "Gong Xi Fa Cai", though written the same in Chinese of course. Never heard that before, even with the more recent influx of mainland China and Taiwan immigrants into Vancouver.

I can think of a lot more attractive examples of multiculturalism than that.

Son, I am disappoint.

It's a funny name. And to be frank, it's just ok. Most of the times I've had it it's salted all to hell, so that's what sticks out the most in my mind.

The first time in history someone has been hungry two hours after eating a haggis.

You might want to ask Rick Santorum.

I think it's kinda funny how many people "hate" haggis and yet have never actually tried it. You really should try it. You might like it and if you don't what's one bad meal out of your whole life? Chances are you already had more than one bad meal.

And Gulper Eel, you win the thread! I larfed hard at that.

Wow - for a second there I read that as mummification - not multiculturalism. I was confused and
a little bit scared.

2012-01-23 09:51:47 PM
I'd say this is more about assimilation rather than multiculturalism for multiculturalism's sake.

He's probably a right-wing troll. I think that comment originally came from one of the Republican presidential candidates (maybe Rick Perry?).

Rusty Shackleford:

One of my Scottish buddies today was saying that someone at the robbie burns party he was at over the weekend did a reading that was a reinterpretation of a Burns work as an ode to takeout curry. I heard it was brilliant, wish I had more details.

Except where it does work, which is thousands of places. Be grateful- the food in your neighborhood is better as a result.

Why do people hate on haggis? It is far from the worst food I have ever tried. It is basically like meatloaf with some oatmeal in it. Yes, the meat contains some organ meat, and it is cooked in a casing. But you don't eat the casing and if you are scared of organ meat don't ever eat sausage again. Really, I always rather liked haggis when I have had it.
