Costco looks for locations that can accommodate plenty of parking spaces as its bulk-buying customers typically drive out to its stores.

So they're looking for a place that can accommodate large, rear end parking?

Perverts.

You expect to get BJs for free? Dude, you've got to pay for the privilege. If you can't handle that, then just go down to your neighborhood skank-fest like Shaw's. Everyone's entered Shaw's repeatedly.

YMMV.

The Maryland costco nearest me isn't allowed to sell alcohol and doesn't have a gas station, reducing its awesomeness ten-fold.

It does have a huge kosher section though, so there's that.

We don't have them here, but when I visited my brother in FL we went to vendor day or something. The whole place was samples, plus a mini-home & garden show. We ate lunch there.

I wish we'd get a Costco here. All we have is Sam's Club, and I try to limit my Wal-Mart exposure.
Average Costco employee - 3 years, $11 per hour
Average Sam's Club employee - 11 months, $8 per hour

Stats are several years old.
But HEY! Sam's Club employees 3x as many people!!!

Clearly, a field trip to Wegmans is in order here, ASAP. You'll thank me... Assuming you like excellent products and service, anyway.

I've been to Wegmans. Loved it. I was just talking about comparing it to Walmart. The problem is the closest Wegmans is 40 mins away. There's talk of putting one closer, but I have no idea.

Of course the problem is that they are different kinds of stores and it's like comparing apples and oranges. One is a department store and one is a grocery store. You go to each for different reasons. You want to buy a TV, tire chains, clothes, or a quilt? Go to a department store. Want to buy beer, bread, cereal, or beer? Go to a grocery store.

That being said, I will put Wegmans up against any grocery store on the planet and it will win hands down.
