The Scottish Organic Producers Association - whose website is at sopa.org.uk - was perplexed when it found itself on the receiving of dozens of nasty and illiterate emails.

My God. Dozens!

One look at the average politics thread amply demonstrates that you don't need to be real smart to use the internet

True. But the UK should be no stranger to this sort of thing. Isn't that where a mob once attacked a pediatrician because they mixed the word up with "pedophile"? Or maybe it was a podiatrist? Or maybe I hallucinated this entirely, I'm not sure.

Yeah that was News of the World, whipping the uneducated peasantry up into a paedophile phrenzy, they attacked anything with a "P" in it, a paediatrician was attacked. One of the reasons no one really mourned the papers passing.

Believe it or not, Fark has a far, far better signal:noise ratio than any of the big sites. Especially Reddit. And god help you - I repeat, god help you - should you ever decide to read or comment on politics at your local newspaper's site.

Organic is immoral, so I fully support this action.

You would think that the .uk domain would have given a bit of a clue that it has nothing to do with US legislation. While I admire their gusto.... Maybe think this through next time?

I'd guess a pediatrician or pediatric dentist. To be fair, though, they often have disturbing website addresses. No kidding, just do a search and see how many pediatricians and pediatric dentists end their urls with "pedo."

Paediatrician. Vandalised and burnt down house, not sure if they went after him/her themselves though. Happened in Paulsgrove, which is just down the road from me... joy.
