Straightup case of UUMI - Undiagnosed/Untreated Mental Issues.

Seems to be a lot of that around. Pity we (as a society) are more likely to film it and put it on the web than to actually do something constructive about it.

/Not that I would be any better at that
//Where would you start...?
///Of course, I'm assuming it's untreated...perhaps this is part of her therapy?

If that's a "lady" I'll eat my hat. And I'm not eating my hat today.

I'm also willing to bet it's more in the vein of Borat than crazy man in a wig. You can see him thinkin' about the next lines.

That's a dim view of the situation. I'm thinking the best thing to do is document it, and advertise what I agree is a tendency to leave people with mental issues untreated.

The only other thing is to try to hand her over to the authorities - in which case you would be putting your own safety at risk - she's nutty, but looks like she can throw down, and who says she doesn't keep some protection in that bag of hers?

Even if you went down that path, you'd need it documented anyhow if you're a stranger. I saw my batshiat crazy dad pull it together remarkably well for a psychiatrist when my sister and I had him committed.

Doesn't necessarily have to be an untreated one. Just one that hasn't been treated properly or some issue has come up which has negated that treatment. (Although, I can see it being counted as untreated)

At any rate, that deserves and auto-tune.

In high school, I took the public bus to and from school. (Band was too early, and theater was too late for the school buses.) On the way home once, there was an old, OLD man who kept swinging his cane (One of the ones with 4 feet on it, for stability. Like this.^) at just about everyone. Nobody wanted to say anything to him. I was THIS close to doing so, but didn't want to get yelled at by everyone.

/not even close to being a csb

Yeah, came across a similar case on the Toronto subway years ago. Some old grizzled dude with poor personal hygiene and questionable sanity was commenting out loud about how the women were dressed on the subway car...and I'm not talking about streetwalkers or anything, I'm talking about normal women on their way to and from home/shopping etc. The guy had the foulest mouth I've ever heard.

We got out at the same stop at Davisville and since I was the only one else who exited with him, he directed his ongoing monologue to me, even though there were no more women around. By the time I reached the surface stairs I'd had enough, turned around and asked him, "You kiss your mother with that mouth of yours?". Guy just looked at me confused, his mouth still working. Felt a little ashamed later but not much.

On youtube there is a recording of a crazy old woman chewing out a telemarketer. Normally I don't sympathize with telemarketers but this old woman was completely insane and the TM was calm and polite. Anyway its starts out with him calling her and she immediately says she is recording him, has contacted the police and they are listening, and demands his full name.

She goes on about how his calling her is liek breaking and entering into her house, how calling her was threatening her with bodily harm, how she was going to make certain he was severely audited every single year of his life. How he was worse than a terrorist, he was a life destroyer. So on and so forth.

I forget how it ended but I thought it was rather amusing. The point I am trying to get at is that crazy old women should always be recorded and put online.

I doubt it. I'm related to someone with mental issues. When my brother pauses like that, he's actually listening to the voices in his head that are telling him what to say next. What I saw in this video reminded me of my brother when he's off his meds and made me very sad. It's not something I'd record and put on the internet for people to mock.

That is a cross dressing man. It is a medical fact that the lbgt community suffers from mental illness at a much, much, much higher rate then the rest of the population. Knowing that, this video isn't very surprising.

Give her dark, curled hair and she reminds me of a woman that used to walk around downtown talking, and occasionally giving holy hell, to her invisible friend.
First time we saw her (we were just little kids then) it freaked us out.. then saw some old men laughing their asses off at her cussing out her "friend" and we started following her around to learn new words!!! lol

You posting in this tab, let alone this thread, is like walking into an open mic night on a Wednesday in Duluth and catching Aerosmith or Bob Dylan or something.

Shenanigans. Yeah, I'm calling 'em. That's a dude dressed up like a Monty Python character, and his buddies are filming the whole thing. The gestures are not something a person in a real crazed rage would use, and the body language is all wrong.

I've seen REAL crazy on the NYC subway, and while I admit there is an infinity of variation, this person doesn't fit into any established mode.

CSB: My first NYC Subway crazy person experience happened on the very first day I came to Manhattan. On the stairs leading down to the station, a woman ran up to me in what seemed to be obvious and serious distress. She yelled "They took my baby! Some men took my baby! Somebody help me get my baby!" I went straight into "action hero mode." I took the woman's (filthy) hand and started pulling her toward the stairs, thinking that we should get up to the street level and find a cop- pronto!

As I guided her up, I asked questions like "when did you first notice your child missing?" and "did you know the men who took your child?" You know, stuff I thought would help the police find the kidnappers.

Her replies didn't make sense, though. She said things like "they're always taking my baby. Every day, they take my baby. Some men from the government, they just take my baby away every day." That was enough to trigger my "whuh?" instinct.

So then I took a good look at her. Yep. Crazy. Yet did I simply release her and go my (uninvolved) way? Nope- I made things worse by actually FINDING a police officer and explaining that the woman seemed unhinged and that somebody should take care of her. At which point, I got to have a nice talk with the officer about things like "you're not from around here are you?"

I was just there for a visit, but years later I came to work there on a long-term contract. And while I'll always remember my first crazy subway person, she was by no means the craziest. Here's to you, Government Took My Baby Woman! May you someday get your baby back. And maybe a shower too. Just sayin'.
