Mitt is best when he uses his surrogates to sling the mud. He's not good at playing dirty and mean. He comes across as the evil preppy rich frat villain in every bad 80's party comedy.

Scerpes: birchman: ultraholland: hubiestubert: The problem is, that Gingrich has that pesky record....

a Teatard acquaintance told me that he couldn't care less about Newt's past indiscretions. I laughed and told him to vote Sideshow/Clowncar in '12 if he liked this GOP circus so much.

I had one (my aunt) tell me this weekend that she'd vote for a can of dog food before Obama. Then went on a ten-minute tirade that could only be described as a greatest hits segment of Fox News, hitting everything from arugula and White House steak dinners to SOROS PUPPET to 200,000 Keystone jobs. By the end she was actually trying to catch her breath because she had gotten herself so angry. It was a sight to behold.

What's wrong with White House steak dinners?

Scerpes: What's wrong with White House steak dinners?

That President Obama clearly started them! Because no President ever had a steak dinner in the White House before him. The rest of them fed gruel to their guests, and they liked it.

Apparently Obama and his family have been throwing lavish parties every night since his election and serving $100/ounce steak to everyone, and using our tax dollars to pay for it, all during the worst recession since the Great Depression which he caused. She even threw out a statistic like 350 out of his first 365 days in office he ate $100/ounce steak for dinner. I don't remember the exact numbers, I was in the middle of having a stroke.

Google will answer that question for you. These are from an article about a dinner attended by 12 Republicans and 12 Democrats plus the POTUS -

The arrogance and insensitivity of this incompetent amateur Obama is simply stunning.
While the country and the entire world suffer, he showers himself with the most lavish and expensive coronation in history and now he throws himself expensive steak dinners!!! This is why we need high taxes and a huge deficeit: So King Barack and Queen Micehlle can live the extravagant lifestyle to which they are entitled!!
Unbelievable and unprecedented!

Wagyu steak is what the billionaires eat. And it is mostly grown in Japan. What are these people thinking, eating like that with taxpayers' money while the taxpayers are scrimping to buy the cheapest cuts of meat!! Kick them all out and get some humble folks governing us.

This is why this phoney suit has no clue about what is going on in the REAL AMERICA.
HEY POTUS....we are eating hamburgers and hot dogs with the money that we have to work to earn....you are spending OUR money on exorbitant food and drink to convince the folks that are in Washington on OUR PAYCHECK. You complain about corporate jets and redecoration of their offices, yet you practice WORSE spending excess YOURSELF.
Have you ever heard the term. "Walk the Talk?"...You are just "talking and talking and talking your talk."
Get some real here, bud...we don't have time to workout and do press conferences...we are at school with our kids when we are not working our jobs, when we are not doing work on our houses and cars.....so show LEADERSHIP, BUD...HOW ABOUT SOME BURGERS AND ICE TEA?????

This moron was clearly not working on spelling and grammar with all this working.

How shocking that the most powerful people in the country get together and don't have burgers for dinner.

This man can't get a break... when it comes to his food choices.

And in a communique from the mirror universe, we learn that the right has been laying into Obama for being low-class and pandering and making America look bad in front of the world by eating burgers and fries and drinking cheap, domestic beer.

WTF is this guy's pan-dimensional problem?

A Dark Evil Omen: Obama for being low-class and pandering and making America look bad in front of the world by eating burgers and fries and drinking cheap, domestic beer.

And every president before Obama served only Ramen noodles at hosted dinners. And the president cooked and served it himself so as to not waste money on a chef and staff.

These critiques are no different than complaining about Obama having Czars and Michelle Obama having a staff. It was no big deal for all previous presidents but FARTBAMA!11!11!!!!!

A leader who doesn't want other people to be smarter than him, believes his advice/plans should be final (even if others suggest they shouldn't be), and who's basically stated he wants to/intends to ignore some of the other branches of government. And who has a vastly inflated sense of his own intelligence/cleverness.

Why does that sound familiar?

Gulper Eel: keylock71: To be fair, they're all an embarrassment to the country, not just their farked up party... That includes Christie, too.

Aaaaaand that's one vote of many for Corzine the crook from Goldman Sachs. Anybody, no matter how verminously sleazy or staggeringly incompetent, can be washed clean if they carry the magic talisman with the D on it, amirite?

Corzine is an asswipe, and I would never vote for him. I'm a liberal.

Having said that, I shall now take the opportunity to point out the difference between R and D.

When we say "But Newt" or "But Bush", we're pointing out douchebags and idiots that you guys have voted for, en masse. You give them positions of leadership, you actively root for them. You defend them at every scandal and say "but some Democrat did it, so it's ok!". You take war criminals like Oliver North and make them media personalities who define your values and your views.

Then you say "But Corzine", "But Blagojevich", "But Edwards". Look. It's a free country. Anyone is allowed to join a political party. These people are disgraces, and once they've revealed themselves as the disgusting people they are, we do not defend them. We say "Yes, those are bad people. That is why they are no longer in office or have any power in our party. We stopped voting for them!"

Both parties have scumbags. It's inevitable when you allow anyone to join. But the difference is... you idiots keep voting for and defending your scumbags. We don't. That's the difference.

brigid_fitch: It'll be like the JFK/Nixon debate--Newt coming off as a tantrum-throwing blowhard & Obama just cruising through it, looking as smooth as ever.

There was a political cartoon in the late 90's that has gotten stuck in the cobwebs of my booze addled mind. It had a diaper clad baby Newt throwing a tantrum on the house floor. My lousy brain remembers it as a turning point in the Clinton presidency, the beginning of the end for Newt and the death of the Contract onwith America. My GIS has failed me in trying to find it.

Newt is slick and he is a master of deflecting criticism. He can sweet talk it, talk down, change subject, strawman and as we have seen lately bully the source. But if he really gets beat down and backed into a corner he can't get out of he can and will melt down. I do not think he has done it many times in his life.

Can Obama push him into that dark place? If he does its game over.
