Why are they trying to promote hunting if there are already 3 years worth of waitlists to fill?

Bo Jackson? Now there's a guy I haven't thought about in at least 15 years. I didn't even know he was still alive. Next you're going to tell me Garth Brooks is still kicking around.

Well, I can kinda see their point. If you have a three year waiting period, why do you need to advertise? I hope they charge out of staters more.

Considering that I think he played Minor League baseball in Omaha (If I remember right), I'd say he had a pretty good idea what the deer hunting in Iowa is like.

Have to take exception with TFA stating that "what gets people of the couch to go deer hunting is the chance to take a trophy buck." Maybe some hunters, but me, I'm after yummy venison.

I had think a while before I remembered. And when I say I remembered, I mean I looked at his Wikipedia entry.

Bo is a legend, not a celebrity.

His skill set was so pure that if he was a musician he would have been dead by 27.

If the waiting list is 3 years, that probably means the deer population is sparse enough to require a waiting list. If anything, this makes me think the Iowa deer hunting scene is terrible.

He was so talented fun to watch in both. He was out of baseball for about 2 years and in his 1st at bat back, jacked a homer.

Michigan has overpopulation of deer. Held out of normal season hunting permited in certain areas for a week. My uncle in Whittemore was in on a doe only hunt a couple years ago. I think Iowans are welcome to check. Let Bo hunt where the deer are not.

/11pm Thanksgiving, getting on I-69 at Dort hwy in Flint (busy city area away from any woods unless you count a golf course) two deer ran across Dort. I almost hit the second one. It was like watching the hunting scene in I am Legend.

He actually had a diseased hip, iirc. It wasnt like the tackle destroyed a healthy hip. It was bound to happen sooner or later.

All kidding aside, the truth is that people with money will always get special consideration. You don't have to agree that it's righteous, but acting like it's not the case and it doesn't happen because it's not fair just makes one sound naive.
