The moral status of the individual soldier who may be serving to feed his family or because they love their country doesn't change the fact that Pakistan is in bed with the Taliban. Half of Pakistan are Pashtun, just like the Taliban, and that's where their loyalty is, not with their government.

We invade, and go to war.

With the drones, kidnapping, torture, etc. we have used, there is no moral high ground. at most you can argue severity of terrorism.
Every battlefield in Iraq and Afghanistan/Pakistan is essentially terrorists killing other terrorists and the fact that one person was born in Abbottabad, Kabul, or bumfark America doesn't matter. Nor does it matter whether they're aligned with a state or not. And as far as personal motives go, they probably share the same basic motives of blind nationalism, religious fundamentalism, or they're working for their taskmasters rolling in the dough at the top so they can make a living (mercenary/slave reasoning).
