The far right is the Eastern US, to the left of that is the Mid-eastern US, then we have the Central US, THEN comes the Mid-West, and then the Western US. I know its hard to imagine, but seriously, not everything between the Eastern coast and California is "The Midwest".

I'll bet Memphis southward through AR, wrn MS and nrn LA end up in a PDS watch before too long. 70 dewpoints along the coast this morning with a strong low level jet is very juicy and dynamic for January.

damn wind here in sw Oklahoma is carrying all the topsoil picked up in the Texas panhandle and it looks like a major fire. right now it is almost 70 degrees here and that front is supposed to hit so the west/southwest winds are going to turn west/northwest and the temps are going to drop like romney's numbers in South Carolina.

We'll be fine here in central Illinois, they are just saying we'll get some thunderstorms here.

I've always thought it was dumb, but places like Michigan and Iowa are generally called the "midwest" despite the fact that they're in the north north-eastern part of the country.

I'm jealous. Weather in Arizona is monumentally boring. Maybe two or three fun storms a year during the monsoon season. And that's about it. I'm embarrassed to say I got a little giddy last night because it got a little windy!

I try and watch outbreaks on the Accuweather forums cause I am a weather nerd... last years outbreaks were even worse than 2003 .. I hope there's nothing too severe here, I also have a friend in mid TN..will be watching this carefully
