Well, it isn't America or Israel's government so they're entitled to print what they want. At least they DID offer up an apology.

He claimed ordering an assassination of President Obama could be one of three ways to protect the people of Israel.

it's past time to re-evaluate our relationship with Israel.

It was absolutely reprehensible, he should be fired, but this in no way says anything about Jews, Israel or any related subjects.

Weaver95: it's past time to re-evaluate our relationship with Israel.

WHY.

One Jewish-American man, in America, in an American newspaper, wrote an incredibly stupid op-ed.

How is that in ANY way related to the Government of Israel?

FTA...Andrew Adler made the controversial statement in the Atlanta Jewish Times, a paper which serves the Jewish community in Atlanta, U.S.

It's an American paper. Threats against the President, whether they are implied, intentional or whatever are not protected speech. That's why the Secret Service is involved.

sorry tats, but Israel and US interests simply do not coincide anymore. Its totally not Isreal, it's us. we feel it's time to date other countries. tell you what tho, we can still totally be facebook friends!

either way, I don't think Israel and the US interests are aligned anymore. I believe it's time to explore other options and opportunities.

One article I read said this dumbass bought the damn paper three years ago, so it's not even like it's his own organic creation.

What a huge and incredibly stupid individual.

Don't worry, I'm sure it won't affect the insane amount of American tax dollars Israel receives every year.

Israel does get an insane, just insane amount of American tax dollars every year.

Rough guesses:

Israel: $2.5B per year
Egypt: $1.5B per year

For about 30 years now, that seems to come up to $120B that Israel and Egypt have "shared"

Do tell, how so?

Afghanistan was due to 9/11. Al Qaeda caused 9/11 due to the US being on Saudi Arabia soil to protect Kuwait.
The most current Iraq war was caused by Bush wanting revenge for Hussein trying to assassinate his father which was caused by the Persian Gulf War which was spawned by the Iran Iraq War.

Not seeing Israel in this.

If that were true, Bush would be in jail. It was waged because a dangerous tyrant threatened the stability of 'the region'. See what they did there?

I was speaking more about the white-knighting "isolated incident" types. Fark yeah the Secret Service needs to give this guy a razor-colonoscopy.

Hey, if he broke the law, by all means send him to jail. Nothing he said was defensible, I do think that between an actual threat to the President and what he said, there's a difference.

Doesn't change how incredibly retarded that comment was. I can't understand how it even made it to the paper.

Here's the entire quote, which they awkwardly avoided using.

Three, give the go-ahead for U.S.-based Mossad agents to take out a president deemed unfriendly to Israel in order for the current vice president to take his place, and forcefully dictate that the United States' policy includes its helping the Jewish state obliterate its enemies.

The dude owns the newspaper. Who's going to fire him?

There are more than a few Israel Firsters here in the US.

Not that I'm accusing them of dual loyalty.

As stated at the funeral of the great Barach "Hussein" Goldstein, a million Obamas are not worth a Jewish fingernail.

Oh, you KNOW one another already?

I read about this in the Forward days ago and hoped I wouldn't see it on Fark.

Look people, basically the minute the original opinion piece was published every major Jewish organization inside and outside of Atlanta told the owner of the paper that he was in the wrong to publish such trash in the first place. Even the Anti-Defamation League (who I am sure everyone on Fark loves) wrote a scathing letter to this asshole. NO ONE agrees with this guy. His opinion is not shared by the general American Jewish population, and I'm sure Israelis agree with him even less.
