You know what I think is cool? Slideshows! I hate being given lists that anyone can read quickly. Slideshows are way better, because it builds the suspense! I especially like slideshows on a website that implies there will be a list, preferably not a lengthy one, because all the people looking for gratification will be disappointed. This link is cooler than an overworked refrigerator in the arctic!

The usual suspects, with some semi-obscure albums the writer sprinkles in so he can use the word "seminal".

I really wish they would stop trying to making hipster techno happen. Techno is terrible and it's taken over pop and rap.

This list includes Dexy's Midnight Runners. If you need evidence that it's flawed, that right there is it.

Being an REM and Wilco fan, I bought both those albums maybe 10 years ago. Was familiar with Big Star and like using them in mixes. Television sounded pretty dated and meh to me. I don't think I've listened to any of that album since. Maybe I should try listening to it again.

You messed it up Subby.... now that someone put them on a list of being the "coolest", they can't be cool anymore.

+1. Sketches of Spain would have been a much better choice.

Trans Europe Express is ok but gets boring after a while.
The best track on Trans Europe Express is Europe Endless.

They kind of lost it when they got to the 80's, and they have the wrong Outkast album on there.
Speakerboxx/Love Below was no where near Aquemini in either quality or coolness.

not a bad list, though I really don't get the love Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space gets. It kind of falls apart after the first half. Lazer-Guided Melodies is a better album.
not really getting the comparisons between The Xx and The Jesus and Mary Chain, though I'm apparently the only one who thinks The Xx sounds like a

you have to get beyond tom verlaine's warbly voice. if you're able to do that, "marquee moon" is one of the greatest guitar albums ever recorded.

There's nothing even close to obscure on that list. Actually, the word needs to be removed from music discussions entirely, unless the person using it has no concept of search engines.

I vouch for The XX's album.
They're damn good.
