I think we really need a better adjective these days. Space-age is the 60s and 70s.

It's up in Northern Maine, the photographer is lucky to get out alive.

The rest of his crew is probably duct taped to saw horses and used for Saturday night entertainment after sis is all worn out.

Well it does look like it was made in the 60's or 70's.

I hear that snob response a lot. I'm thankful that all the LIVE concerts and rock festivals in Europe ruined my hearing such that I can't tell the difference between a cassette tape, CD or mp3. Makes music purchasing rather inexpensive when i can get MP3's so cheap instead of a CD with 12 tracks and only 1-2 songs worth the purchase.

Due to a CD's 192Kb limit...not sure if serious, but it should make for a fun thread. ;)

Yeah, I went to plenty of LIVE concerts in my time (still do go to them, too). But I'm not proud of my hearing damage. Almost always wore earplugs (which my dad insisted I carry in my camera bag, smart man), but spent about two years doing photography so ended up right next to the speaker on the side of the stage on a pretty frequent clip. Tried not to stay there; sometimes that wasn't possible.

Anyway, yeah. Enjoy the tinnitus. I'll enjoy that mine isn't as bad as it could have been (since I wouldn't trade most of those concerts for anything).

/thanks, Dad

When you can ABX a CD against a reasonable bitrate mp3 in a running vehicle, I will be astounded. Until then, the complete lack of skipping combined with the ability to store hundreds of cds on one thumb drive will convert more and more people.

toetag: I hear that snob response a lot. I'm thankful that all the LIVE concerts and rock festivals in Europe

Air pollution from the Industrial Revolution on has changed the air composition to the point that sound quality at live concerts has been total crap since about the end of the 19th Century. And, for that matter, water contamination has degraded human nerve response and left us without really talented musicians. Haven't had any really proper ones since, I don't know, Blind Tom or that guy who used to tour with Gottschalk's music.

To really hear music properly, you need it performed by the right imps imprisoned in an amber sounding bell, piped to glass headphones through virgin Brazilian rubber tubes filled with purified air. Even then, your ears aren't good enough, but what can you do.

Things were better in the old days.

StreetlightInTheGhetto: so ended up right next to the speaker on the side of the stage on a pretty frequent clip.

AC/DC concert many years ago, I had an enlarge appendix. Doctor forbid me from doing anything sporting. I had tickets that night and went. Apparently I was near the "effects area" and got laid out by what i suspect was a concussion grenade effect. Doctor nearly kicked my arse when I showed up the next day in his office.

That is how I felt when I read the headline. When I hear old in reference to Spy Hunter I think 8-Bit vertically scrolling graphics and a midi-version of the "Peter Gunn" theme playing. In fact right now I have the Peter Gunn theme stuck in my head and a desire to find if I can get Spy Hunter to work on an C64 emulator.

They also came out with the Indy Lite 340, which was almost worthless because the sled itself was so heavy it dogged itself on anything short of glare ice.

But that motor is stupid fun when you put it in a off road go cart.
