Somebody awaken General Sherman from his tomb. There's uppity Southerners that need smiting.

2012-01-22 03:04:21 AM
You know what? Yes.

2012-01-22 03:20:00 AM
And your point is?

Democrats: making fun of homosexuals is wrong, but it's ok to make fun of those inbred southerners

What you mean: Republicans: Why can't we hate and be bigoted towards homosexuals, but Democrats can criticize us for being hateful and bigoted?

2012-01-22 04:13:53 AM
Being pig-ignorant is a choice.

2012-01-22 07:40:31 AM
Y'all just don't get it, do you Cletus?

2012-01-22 08:07:22 AM
Well, bless their hearts.

2012-01-22 08:12:21 AM
Also, I am quite certain that the comments which accompany that editorial will do absolutely nothing whatsoever to further the stereotyping which they decry.

2012-01-22 08:44:19 AM
Mocking people for being willfully ignorant is not the same thing as hating someone for genetic differences.

Fark It: Democrats: making fun of homosexuals is wrong, but it's ok to make fun of those inbred southerners

What you mean: Republicans: Why can't we hate and be bigoted towards homosexuals, but Democrats can criticize us for being hateful and bigoted?

The democrats that scream for tolerance are themselves intolerant of other people's intolerance. Kinda funny if you think about it.

/respects everybody that only agrees with them

2012-01-22 09:15:48 AM
Actual inbreeding? No. Idiot Southern Conservatives? Oh HELL yes.

2012-01-22 09:19:04 AM
When gay people move into a neighborhood property values go up because they bring culture.

When rednecks move into a neighborhood property values plummet because they bring idiocy.

2012-01-22 09:21:26 AM
homosexuals don't represent a danger to the country.

2012-01-22 09:22:02 AM
Any Republican apologists care to explain what kind of magic it takes for the solidly Democratic south, that passed both the New Deal and the Great Society, to get into bed with a bunch of east-coast Republican neoliberals that doesn't involve the overt racism of the Southern Strategy?

2012-01-22 09:27:04 AM
Wake me up when Democrats start trying to ban redneck marriages.

Also, here's a helpful picture of what a redneck wedding might look like.

Oh, and by the way, it's a blatant lie besides: None of the candidates "singled out a minority group for lectures." That's the vivid imagination of the liberal media. Most poor people are white. And Newt Gingrich has been addressing the problems of the poor -

Except that he called food stamps a "black problem".

Explain that, fool.

2012-01-22 09:38:24 AM
You know something- there is a reason Germany outlawed the swatzika after WWII- they were ashamed of what it stood for.

Apparently the the south is proud of the fact they kept humans as slaves and tried to tear apart a country.

I thought that was a "blah" problem. Or am I mixing up the racists?

2012-01-22 09:47:14 AM
What the media doesn't get is they infer that being racist is wrong. The reason these people don't think their racist is because they don't think their bigotry is wrong.

And Newt Gingrich has been addressing the problems of the poor - talking about the extent of the problem under this president and possible solutions, in honest ways the media and White House will not.

yeah, but most of Gingrich's solutions are variations of 'STFU you lazy bottom feeders and go get jobs as stock brokers'.

2012-01-22 09:53:14 AM
As opposed to making fun of "dirty hippies"? Or saying DemocRAT (emphasis on rat)? Or attempting to demonize the word "liberal"? Or saying that anyone that had reservations about the Bush led war on terror (specifically the Iraq invasion) was either a terrorist or sympathized with the terrorists?

Don't forget stripping all of the worker protection and environmental laws created in the last century and allow our corporations to finally compete with the Chinese on a level playing field.

Being an inbred Southerner is a choice, Subby. If they would simply choose to not be inbred Southerners there wouldn't be any problem.

See what I'm saying?

Maybe he should start telling those poor white people to demand a paycheck instead of a foodstamp.

Santorum was the one who recently said he wanted to help blah people get off of public assistance.

2012-01-22 10:15:34 AM
Subby, the quote says nothing about being inbred:
"In South Carolina, where a Confederate flag still waves on the front lawn of the State Capitol largely because of the efforts of the state Republican Party, it remains good primary politics to stir up racial animosity and then link it to President Obama. Mr. Gingrich, Mr. Santorum and the crowd that cheered them are following in a long and tawdry tradition, singling out a minority group for lectures while refusing to support policies that help all Americans."
Instead, it discusses being racist.

But somehow, you tie that to incest, as if all racist people are inbred. Why do you hate the poor victims of incest, Subby?

2012-01-22 10:36:13 AM
While inbreeding is a choice, being inbred is not. Even while calling them on their racism, we should remember that they are just fncking retarded.

2012-01-22 11:03:08 AM
Uh oh, the racism charge is sticking.

Activate off topic op-ed reserves to inundate press on unrelated matters.

Well... They mock northerners, too.

It's sort of like how we all make fun of Canada and Canada makes fun of us.

It's more a case of cars and fridges on the front lawn.

They DON'T choose to be gay.

They DO choose to be inbred southerners

GAT_00: Mocking people for being willfully ignorant is not the same thing as hating someone for genetic differences.

Pet peeve: while it's largely got biological causes (well, everything humans do has a biological cause!) it's probably not genetic. Epigenetic, perhaps. The real difference is that being homosexual is socially acceptable behavior, or at least it should be. Being an ignorant bigot, on the other hand, is completely unacceptable.

2012-01-22 11:21:02 AM
Southerners are the only class in America where you can be as bigoted as you want to be.

You can't show any bias against any other group. Not foreigners, not immigrants, not gays, not religious minorities even.

This thread will prove it. Nobody here would say Arabs are inbred idiots who revel in their stupid barbarism but if you say that about a Southerner... it's just accepted as fact.

And we all know facts aren't racist, right?

2012-01-22 11:21:14 AM
Democrats: Eating nails is wrong, but it's ok to eat tomatoes.

Canada makes fun of us??? For what? That's like the Columbus Clippers making Cleveland Indian jokes.

y u no think of homosexual inbred southerners
moderates/independents dont no what to be more angry at

Well it's a good thing being a southern white male automatically makes you ignorant and bigoted... right? Right?

Great. Now there's going to be spillover anger on the Hillbillies.

2012-01-22 11:24:48 AM
As a Southerner, I'm getting a kick out of this.

The South does not have a monopoly on inbred racist rednecks. My wife is a Yankee and where she grew up, Upstate New York near Buffalo, there are inbred racist rednecks aplenty. Her Facebook lights up with posts about Teh Gheys, Odumbo taking their rifles, and how awesome Newt Gingrich is.

2012-01-22 11:25:16 AM
Being a godless gay-married ex-patriot hillbilly, I'm really getting a kick out of this thread.

Basically, you take the jokes you make about southerners and apply them to the entire U.S. We're inbred, loud, angry, rash, too proud, etc. I think it comes from when we stole Gretsky and Pam Anderson. I know we tried to return Pam, but they have a strict "no returns" policy.
