2012-01-22 09:25:20 PM
Yep Gnats ball

This is a problem

2012-01-22 09:25:21 PM
The ref's have done everything in their power to get the Giants out of the playoffs, and they're still in it.

2012-01-22 09:25:22 PM
Giants ball, correct call.

weeeeeeee

Williams, you douchnozzle.

2012-01-22 09:25:31 PM
I didn't know the punting team isn't allowed to advance muffed punts.

2012-01-22 09:25:34 PM

TheManofPA: TheManofPA: If they rule it hit him, that is big. Had they let the play just go out (no whistle), it'd be a TD. Instead they'll only get the ball in FG range.

Oops, I had the rule wrong. Fox just covered the "can't advance the kick".

I thought people have scored on recovered onside kicks though

Yeah, I'm confused. I thought a kickoff was a free ball for everyone, a punt a free ball for everyone once the receiving team touches it.

/you can't advance a fumbled punt? How do I not know this?

2012-01-22 09:25:35 PM
Reset the clock to 11:08, that's what it was, 11:08, when he picked up the ball.

2012-01-22 09:25:37 PM
That's the most concise GunShow explanation we've heard yet.

Over/under set at 84 minutes.

That's still the most brutal hit I've ever seen (new window)

Glad I saw it, but come on.

Wow a rare correct challenge by Coughlin this season.

I think this ref thinks he's Brendan Shanahan.

I'd like to think that wouldnt happen if Ted Ginn were back there, but it probably would have beeen worse, actually.

You can't advance a muffed punt, and this would be considered a muffed punt. You can advance a kickoff because it is a free ball.

So if he knew it hit him, why did he not go for the recovery?

Di Atribe: Did we get an answer on the QBR question earlier? Because.....

Brady: 57.7
Flacco: 99.2

How's the Romo QBR for these playoffs?

2012-01-22 09:26:43 PM
That idiot on the Niners may have just cost them the game. I can't believe a professional football player would do such a totally stupid thing. You either catch the punt or you get the fark away from it.

2012-01-22 09:26:44 PM
It's official. The NFL is now the WWF.

He started to, but then stopped, because that might make him look guilty.

I somehow managed to come across that before. I learned something today. And it is not looking good now for San Fran after that big first down.

To be fair, it's probably for the benefit of the people actually at the game, and not for us TV watchers.
