Went through the slide show looking for Harry Belafonte & leaving happy. I will respectfully state that might be the greatest 30 minutes of TV ever. Absolutely phenomenal.
That said, list fails without Johnny Cash.

Oh, so many great shows/guest stars. But leaving satisfied seeing Alice and Harry Belafonte. "Turn the World Around" still gives me chills, and the mask puppets were stunning.
Victor Borge and John Denver certainly deserve nods.

Not a bad top 10 list, it has five of my favorites (Cleese, Moreno, Cooper, John and Belefonte) on it.
But I would also add these
Alan Arkin and the Dr Jeckyl and Mr Hyde bit
James Coburn teaching Animal zen meditation, which was a poor fit
Mark Hamill and his star wars cronies
Lorretta Lynn doing the show in the train station
Peter Sellers having a breakdown "Just be you, Peter"......... "Just be me? I'm an actor, I don't know who I am!"

What Muppet Show wasn't classic? One of the greatest shows to grace the screen ever. The writing and the creativity were second to none. Absolutely loved the show, didn't miss an episode. The whole family watched it-name me a show today that the entire family can watch and enjoy.

Shouldn't that read best 10 guests from the 70's? I'm pretty sure the show ran past 79 and there have been some good guests on it. :/

Mark Hamill / Luke Skywalker, R2-D2, Chewbacca, and C-3PO were awesome on the Muppet Show. The fact that Hamill played himself and his "cousin" Luke Skywalker as separate characters made the show.

Which musical guest was the one in the tree who throughout the entire song had woodland animals conspiring to get him down and eat him? Had a huge white boy fro.

Tough to choose just 10, but the choices they went with are pretty solid.
Belfonte's "Turn the World Around" is still one of my favorite moments in TV history.

Here's Bruce Forsyth getting one over Statler & Waldorf.
I just watch the first season with my 7 year old. Bruce Forsyth was really good, considering I had no idea who he was. You can really spot the guests who have theatrical experience. Sandy Duncan, surprisingly was pretty good. Candice Bergen was pretty talentless, weird how that works.
