Rick Perry's endorcement sure paid off!

/isn't 45 minutes after the polls close a little early to call an election? Just askin.

I remember after New Hampshire, I posted to the effect that "conservatives have not yet had their say." And everyone was like "Romney's totally gonna win for sure, you're delusional."

For the first time tonight, conservatives had their say in this nomination process. It's clear they don't like the Republican Washington inside liberal elite's hand picked candidate, and prefer an actual conservative instead.

Damn, what a crappy prize. What did second place get, a VCR?

Apparently, exit polls were overwhelmingly in favor of GIngrich. FWIW, no one can seem to find anyone who was exit polled.

Who knows? Maybe Herman Cain pulls one out.

Assuming exit polls were run correctly no it isn't. They could have called it a few hours ago.

Who cares, how many votes did Herman Cain get?

only thing better wd be if Romney still got nomination and some messiah like Perry started a Teabuggers separate run in protest

Congratulations, South Carolina. You have just voted for a $1.6 million-dollar Freddie Mac consultant (who says he wasn't a lobbyist) who has been married three times, had (has?) a mistress, and was fined $300k for 84 ethics violations the last time he held political office.

Remember, South Carolinians are "values" voters! Just what those values really are, who knows...

Not for primaries it seems. In 2000 they were calling the Virginia primary for Bush within about a half hour of the polls closing.

I'm not all that into politics and I consider myself a pretty open minded guy. Ok I lean left, but Newt Gingrich? Farking Really? I get Romney, I don't like him but I get it. I don't get this.

I just don't.

The real question for tonight is:

How did Colbert Cain do?

2012-01-21 08:12:24 PM
This only tells me that South Carolinans (sp?) would rather have a wealthy, Catholic Republican nominee that has multiple ethics and moral problems than a wealthy, Mormon Republican nominee that has some business ethics problems.

2012-01-21 08:12:43 PM
Ha! Enjoy that protracted in-party fight in the primary Romney. I hope the Republicans thoroughly defame him before he ever even reaches the general election.

2012-01-21 08:13:20 PM
Libs are pissing their pants. Big Newt will destroy fartbongo in the debates.

Ackbarican_Idol: Who cares, how many votes did Herman Cain get?

This is all I want to know.

With 13% percent reporting "Other" has 1.2%

Do the republicans really think they are going to win an election with a disgraced serial adulterer who runs on family values or a Mormon with a quarter billion dollars, who likes to stash it in offshore tax havens? No wonder Obama is going around singing Al Green songs.

stevenr868: and Obama is probably lighting up his victory cigar as we speak

Yep, if Newt gets the nomination Obama wins re-election in a landslide.

Newt may be quick witted and good in debates, but hes an unlikable asshole and will get none of the moderate votes, the candidate who doesnt get those will lose the election.

More importantly, it appears that Cain is catching up to Perry.

According to Google, with 18,4% reporting, Cain has 723 votes (0.8%)

An actual conservative would want to redistribute a portion of the wealthy's income to the poor(to stimulate the economy), encourage alternative sources of energy( to disengage from the middle east), and reign in corporate interests( in order to preserve the middle class).

There is one screaming, huge story here tonight and that is these Republicans just don't want to vote for Mitt Romney. I mean it's like you're trying to give a dog a pill. They keep spitting it up.

I dare say the Republican base would vigorously disagree with you. They're all semi-Randites and neo-confederates now. Welfare is unspeakable tyranny, and CEOs are the most persecuted members of society.

Republics thought they didn't have quite enough baggage for this trip, so they stopped in South Carolina and onloaded quite a bit more.

Lulz!

Kerry 2.0 is way ahead in the states ahead, but will take quite a bit more "friendly" fire on the way.

Lulz!!

Couldn't have happened to a more repulsive group of... well...
