I'm having a hard time believing that anything worn underneath your clothing, or ski suit, could have any effect on your aerodynamics, let alone enough to shave seconds off your time.

lol

stiff firm surface will create less turbulence
streamline ftw

Not necessarily.

I'm trying to figure out how this underwear would help. If the ski suit didn't let air through that might, maybe but probably not, help a very very tiny amount. But as underwear, no way for it to help and could actually hamper aerodynamics.

with our current fabrics and surfaces? yes, stiff smooth is always better
with crap that exists in nature? who the hell knows. nature does some absurdly amusing and amazing things

If we were talking about say the luge, then yes, but in skiing your position isn't constant.

How could something worn UNDER the clothing give someone an aerodynamic advantage?

It's not constant like luge, but for parts skiing position is constant. Mostly at the beginning and end of the course. Keep in mind this is one of the many hobbies where milliseconds matter. Watch repair would be another one.

Sounds Swiss? Your theory is full of holes.

If she got a Brazilian wax, would that also improve her aerodynamics? Is that where the term "shave seconds off your time" came from?

After confiscating and testing the contentious clothing.... I am wondering how they knew?

Apparently she doesn't subscribe to that theory (nsfw)

I think female skier should not wear any underwear. A little camel toe would help with the aerodynamics. And the media coverage.
