The horrible quality of this movie doesn't really seem to affect me too much. I love this episode!

I like to listen to this episode while I do other things. The riffing really is great. It's just that the movie itself is SO HARD TO SIT THROUGH. I can't watch the actual episode. Just too hard.

People need to watch Coleman Francis' trilogy. Then people will have watched the worst movies ever.

Coleman Francis make Ed Wood look like a film genius.

For seriouses.

At least Ed Wood's films were coherent and followable.

Coleman Francis, well... he likes coffee. We've established that much.

I don't know about that. We went to the Rifftrax version of "Plan 9," and I actually screamed out "WHAT?!!" as the mincing head alien was explaining the solaranite bomb.

But then again, I do have a stupid mind.

I'm terms of coherence, I'm speaking relatively, of course!

Ed Wood might not have had the best grasp on scientific concepts, but you could follow his films the first time around.

The first few times I saw Red Zone Cuba (I know), I had only the vaguest idea of what the hell was going on.

They really did the best with what they had to work with. I thought Giant Spider Invasion was greenlit this week.

Glad everyone is enjoying this weeks selection. I first got it on Netflix, and LOVED IT. Classic for sure. Plus, with last nights MST3K character thread, it was even more fun.

10 minute best of version if you can't see the whole thing

Drink Night Train, go to the basketball game. Throw up under the bleachers

I dug it when they still used Magic Voice. You didn't really hear a whole lot of Magic Voice during the Sci-Fi years.

It's almost like an inverse relation-type thing.

The weaker and/or more incoherent the movie, the greater the potential for comedy gold.

Oh, Red Zone Cuba was BOSS. I remember not knowing what to think when the ep ended the first time... but I quickly grew to love it.

I was hoping it wasn't just me. I've watched this episode so many times and yet I still have trouble recalling things about it every time. I'm pretty sure it's a defense mechanism my brain has enacted to protect my mental health.

That's my problem with MST3K. A lot of awful movies aren't really funny bad, just boring bad. Especially the older ones where it's like, "We don't have the budget to do anything, so let's draw out these scenes where they're just standing around in some room for as long as possible. That said, with the right movie, MST3K can be really good.

Crow: It's the first color movie that needs to be colorized.

And I think that's part of the problem with the episode, the movie looks like someone's dog peed all over a VHS transfer. The riffing is really funny but I can barely stand to look at it.

Yeah, they have a few like that, some you need to watch twice to "get" it, like Hamlet.

However this trilogy is just BAD... I couldn't sit through red zone cuba or skydivers. They are way too boring.
