$50 a day to get into Disney and then Obama shows up and shuts down Main Street USA for a speech. The only way to get into the rest of the park!

To add insult to injury, any citizen who wanted to come and hear him speak had to pay Disney for that privilege. Every American should have the right to hear his duly elected leader speak without having to pay for that right.

Disney should have either had a free admission day or Obama should have chosen a venue where the citizenry would not have to pay to see him.

/Why yes, I am trolling. Thank you for asking.

Was there ever a consensus as to how the teahadists will spend their vacation dollars in lieu of Disney? Dollywood? Creation Museum? Buy a new copy of "Red Dawn" on VHS?

Why do you want a President who "isn't familiar with the street life of America," who "likes firing people," who wanted the "auto industry to collapse," who calls himself "unemployed" when he's sitting on $200 million, who pays less income tax than many middle-class folks but doesn't want to change the system, who doesn't want to have an open discussion of the causes of income inequality?...

as opposed to the man that drove GM and Chrysler into bankruptcy?

/Obama's first dealing with them was to bankrupt the companies that were too big to fail. I dunno, but when I took economics, the definition of business failure was hand-in-hand with bankruptcy.

Regarding firing, how many gooberment employees have been fired by Obama? If you include the military, you easily reach 100K. Not a bad figure for 3 years of work. It took Romster an entire career to fire folks.

Why do you want a President who "isn't familiar with the street life of America,"

Regardless of how familiar he is, I have more faith that he can improve the economy than 0bama. 0bama told people he was familiar with street life because he knows that arugula was more expensive at Whole Foods. How did that help?

who "likes firing people,"

yup. When people aren't providing service, they should be fired. Why is that wrong?

who wanted the "auto industry to collapse,

failing companies should be allowed to fail. someone else will pick up the pieces, learn from the mistakes and build something better.

" who calls himself "unemployed" when he's sitting on $200 million,

he is unemployed if he isn't working.

who pays less income tax than many middle-class folks

oh no! he is following the tax code and paying what he owes. He can NEVER be treasury secretary now. Quick lets elect him so we can start impeachment proceedings!

but doesn't want to change the system, who doesn't want to have an open discussion of the causes of income inequality?...
Causes? More people earn more than others. The greatest growth in income equality was during Clinton's Presidency. Blame him.

You know, the right is really, really working hard to keep this guy who was killed because he was hanging around with a bunch of other terrorists when a bomb happened to drop on all of them as a US citizen. I remember when they found that American Taliban guy - John Walker Lynde - and they were practically ready to hang him, strip him of any rights as a terrorist. And he was just a minor foot soldier. This guy had rank, but because Obama did it, they act like he was some half-innocent victim of Obama's treachery or something... God I hate hate hate neo-con logic sometimes.

Success? Being born rich and staying rich hardly qualifies as success.

Besides, it's not his wealth that makes Romney unfit for office, it's the fact that he has allowed his wealth to insulate him from reality to the point where the average American's lifestyle is 100% foreign to him.

And on top of that, republicans have spent the last 5 years attacking Obama for being an arugula-eating elitist, and then they turn around and nominate a Royal who has never worked a day in his life. It's like they have no desire to even be competitive.

tenpoundsofcheese:

he is unemployed if he isn't working

Not according to the US Government:

What are the basic concepts of employment and unemployment?
The basic concepts involved in identifying the employed and unemployed are quite simple:

People with jobs are employed.
People who are jobless, looking for jobs, and available for work are unemployed.
People who are neither employed nor unemployed are not in the labor force.
The survey is designed so that each person age 16 and over who is neither in an institution (for example, correctional facilities and residential nursing and mental health care facilities) nor on active duty in the Armed Forces is counted and classified in only one group. The sum of the employed and the unemployed constitutes the civilian labor force. Persons not in the labor force combined with those in the civilian labor force constitute the civilian noninstitutional population 16 years and over. (There is no upper age limit.) Under these concepts, most people are quite easily classified. For example:

Elizabeth Lloyd reported to the interviewer that last week she worked 40 hours as a sales manager for the Western Beverage Company. Elizabeth is employed.

Steve Hogan lost his job when the local plant of the Chariot Aircraft Manufacturing Company was closed down. Since then, he has been visiting personnel offices of other businesses in town trying to find a job. Steve is unemployed.

Linda Coleman is a homemaker. Last week, she was occupied with her normal household chores. She neither held a job nor looked for a job. Her 80-year-old father who lives with her has not worked or looked for work because of a disability. Linda and her father are not in the labor force.

And no, I don't think running for president counts as "looking for a job".

And now the right is up in arms because Obama's putting the poor bureaucrats out of work?

So, Obama was attacked during the election because he lived in a the same city as Bill Ayers, and now the right is joining the ACLU because the military killed an enemy combatant? I don't even understand what point you think you're trying to make here.

Seriously, there's a lot to criticize about Obama, but foreign policy is not on that list. Like it or not, the era of sustainable autocracy has come to an end under the Obama doctrine.

The GOP's election pitch seems to be "all the great things that have happened during Obama's presidency were just coincidences." We'll see how that works out for them...
