Is Dillinger's infamy value not worth at least $200K?

Make sure it doesn't have a cracked head. Cause if it does, it's probably shot.

The Barrett-Jackson holds no bars when it comes to weird shiat they're willing to take and put up for a man to yell into a microphone about.

That was last year. The ambulance that was auctioned off with his name attached was proven fake.

This one would have to be fake crazykatchan: UNC_Samurai: Wasn't a car involved in Kennedy's death proven fake not too long ago?

This one would have to be a fake as well.

Article states it's not only mint-condition (which denotes it hasn't been used), but it's a 1964 model, which post-dates when JFK was blown away.

Unless the article's incorrect, but ... surely that can't be so ... journalist accuracy and integrity and all that ... could it? :-/

;-)

Screw the hearse. I'd take a long look if his last convertible was up for bid though.

/Back and to the left: I got it, FNB. It was indeed funny, and it is too bad most of Fark will not appreciate it. +1

I'm gonna buy it, fix it up, and enter it in a demolition derby! :D

takes balls of bronze to turn down a $900k bid. owner must have a vast collection or a fat bank book. i think the money car would be the open-air limo in which the president was shot. the ambulance doesn't make sense to me.

Most new car model years start in the preceding fall.......(e.g., 2012 models started going on sale in September October of 2011).

From the B-J website:

This 1964 Miller-Meteor hearse arrived in Dallas in October, 1963 for the National Funeral Directors Association Convention. It was the display vehicle as a new model year introduction for the 1964 and its body #64001. It was purchased by the O'Neal Funeral Home located in Dallas when the convention ended.

Beat me to it! Probably not even broke in at the time. If it's that nice & all original it must have let a charmed life. The guy should've taken the $900000 when he had the chance though.
I had a '66 Caddy wagon I paid a whoppin' $500 for. Sold it to a friend of mine after the motor went south for a song. He had it parked across the street from a shop he ran. A guy came around the nearby curve at high speed and broadsided the hearse. The only thing that you could indentify his car with was a wheel & hubcap. Of course the dead guy's insurance company gave my buddy twice what I gave for the Caddy.
/my luck

Watched the auction. The hearse was put up at no reserve and frankly, the owner would have been much better off taking the eBay offered price of $900,000 rather than running it through Barrett Jackson.

The final selling price was $160,000.

UNC_Samurai: Wasn't a car involved in Kennedy's death proven fake not too long ago?

That was the '63 Pontiac Navy Ambulance that was a fake. The original was destroyed.

The Cadillac Hearse was owned by the funeral home and preserved.
