My google-fu is very weak, but I remember seeing a book that had the negatives to very iconic photos done with either the photographer or someone connected to the photographer (in the case of the dead ones). Very cool in that you could see just how crap some of these negs were. Ansel's Moonrise neg was one of the ones in that book, and man, it was thin as all get out.

"Famous" as in "Nathan's Famous Hot Dogs", not as in "everyone has seen them before and will recognize them".

The first ones are indeed famous, but I have never seen the ballerina legs, or the Indian with the elephant. And in addition, while I have seen that shot of the World trade Center Towers and the shot of the dogs and lady in NYC, I would hardly call them famous photographs.

\Feh.
