I'll help console Kelly.

Don't worry, Kelly, he's got a year there at most.

It was inevitable that Philbin would end up in Florida.

At least the broncos get to keep mccoy for now. Can they please have a semblance of stability? Please?

With the faint praise Elway's been offering Tebow? And the first place schedule in 2012? Although with the state of the AFC West 7-9 might just take it.

This guy just can't catch a break lately.

In relation to the whole "dead son/crappy team" angle, I was looking for something more like "hopefully the Dolphins will do better when they play in cold weather," but at least you've got the ball rolling...

During Miami games coach challenges will now be referred to as a lifeline.

Ima10urin8: Matt Flynn on his way to Miami?

Well, we can take bets, if you like.

Your inept Miami franchise with an Offensive Coordinator that did nothing in terms of playcalling...only scheming. Vs...

Seattle, who has John Schneider, who helped partially build that team and drafted Flynn himself.

My vote is on my chickenhawks, GO!

Really was hoping McCoy would end up the 'Phin's HC so that Ross would then trade for Tebow, bringing the golden boy back Florida.

/mostly for the lulz

Umm...actually...Don Shula took the Dolphins to the playoffs in his first year there...Super Bowl in year two...then won the next two Super Bowls

Too true, with all four of them playing the AFC North and NFC South they'll be lucky to go 4-4 against that slate. Even as a Raider fan I'm taking them and Denver under at 7.5 wins.

I was probable drunk last night when I posted that, but I remember reading a list of HoF coaches that didn't really start winning in the tiny time frame current owners seem to be giving new coaches, Shula was on there, but must have misremembered for why he was on the list

You've got to be the most disappointing alt ever. Such high potential for the name Norv Turner, and you keep farking it up.

Shula was head coach of the Colts from 1963-69.
He had a grand total of 2 losing seasons; 6-8 in 1976 (Czonka and Kiick bailed) and 6-10 in 1988 (the "Olphins").

=================================================================

Chuck Noll didn't start winning with the steelers until season 4 I think it was. And went 1-13 his first year. (And I think 3-11 his second). He was terrible.

Of course, the Steelers didn't have ANY successful coaches prior to Noll and, like modern-day owners, they fired coaches left and right (I think the Steelers had like 5 or 6 coaches just in the 60s).

It was then that Rooney decided a different philosophy of stability and tradition would right the ship and stuck with Noll. Of course, I'm talking about Dan Rooney, who took over for the team in 1969 from his Dad.

It paid off and they won 4 super bowls.

To this day, Dan Rooney has never fired a head coach. Steelers are most successful franchise in the league. Coincidence... I think not.

If he keeps screwing up every easy situation possible and blows all his chances doesn't that mean he is the perfect Norv Turner?
