So you're saying you were right in the first place, cause those Hanson chicks were kinda hot.

No. She chooses not to. It is not that she cannot. I'm as big a NOT fan of law enforcement, and government as you can find without delving into gun porn collecting militia wingnuts, but if you do something that is even technically illegal, you don't abrogate responsibility by avoiding punishment because you disagree or it's scary. Law enforcement exists in order to maintain society and the social contract. if you avoid it for whatever reason, it isn't the law you're fighting, it's the contract of trust between you and every other individual in your community/country/world that you're damaging.

Unfortunately, as much as people willfully ignore and forget that part, the rest of the world/country/community ignores or chooses to forget that it isn't some strange alien outside force doing this. The actions of their law enforcement agencies, of those people so empowered by the people with the responsibility of enforcing the social contract, are the direct responsibility of the people themselves. You can't just say 'wow, that sucks that our government would do that to this plucky little girl.' The fact that it is being done, that it is being done in your name, by those you invested with those powers, means it is directly your responsibility.
