So. If I have this correct. These are the steps.
1. People submit ideas for new products to Walmart.
2. Somewhere in the fine print is something about relinquishing rights to idea to Walmart.
3. Walmart profits!
Of course, I might just be skeptical.

Meh, just more big companies trying to be "interactive" with people to get ideas themselves, instead of going with someone like Quirky or EdisonNation.

As per George Carlin, find two things that have never been nailed together, and nail them together - *BINGO* - instant marketing success

So that's how you spell that word. I'd heard it but never seen it in print.

They tried this back in the early '80s with "Joanie Loves Tchotchkes". It didn't take off then, either.

more like it:
1) you submit product idea & win
2) Walmart helps you get funding to begin production
3) fine print says that you have to provide X many units per year or you lose your new factory
4) and further states that your sale price must decrease by 3% per year or Walmart backs out (see item 6)
5) resulting in either Walmart owning your new company or you have to move it to China in order to meet Walmart's demands
6) and if Walmart's sales don't meet quota, the deal is off and your stuck with a butt-load of merchandise you can't sell
7) and still have to pay off the loans

Oh, I had the Tchotchkes once. My doctor told me to drink a warm glass of salty water and it cleared it right up.

I have a great invention for Wal-Mart shoppers. I call it a belt. It's like the extension cord you usually use to hold up your pants.

I should fill a Wal-Mart with some of the gadgets I've worked on and let the judges pick one.

Which is ironic since most Walmart shoppers would break a shelf if they got on it.

I'd put good money on herbal vaporizers. You know, for herbs. Plain ol' legal herbs. Yup. Nothing to see here.
