Yeah, that would have probably been good by itself. I submitted "At last my death has come along, my lonely days are over, and life was like a song"

"At Last" is a great, great song and nobody will ever sing it like Etta James. Suck it, Beyonce.

That being said, this is one of my favorite Etta James songs. Nobody growls like her.

Never that much of a fan but her album 'Seven Year Itch' has a cover of Otis Redding's 'I Got The Will' that is 3 minutes and 40 seconds of sweat inducing, horn blasting gut-bucket soul.

Well, I guess the mods wanted a little more because At Last was my headline submission. :/

I remember quite a few people 'discovering' Etta James when her music was featured on "Northern Exposure" television program in 1990. I also must list the tune 'At Last' as my personal favorite. It is both beautiful and gritty at the same time. Lucky enough to see a few times in New Orleans at house of Blues and of course at Jazz Festival. Thank you Johnny Otis for helping uncover this talent. Thanks felloe Farkers for giving her some 'props' she most certainly deserved.
