We're greenlighting links to twitter feeds now? Really?

cmunic8r99: We're greenlighting links to twitter feeds now? Really?

There is a live stream too, with a link on the Twitter page. Twitter just points out the 'good' stuff.

The chick next to baldy in the blue shirt is kind of hot. So I've got that going for me.

This is your taxpayer money at work.

So how many votes by Mickey Mouse? My Republican friends on the lake here know there are lots of those, since they know someone who put them there, wink wink nudge nudge, know what I mean?

Sweet mother of bureaucracy that looks dull

Pfff . light weights -- I remember the Florida recounts and hanging Chad

I haven't had something so 'exiting' since I last ate Mexican and got Santorum.

Wow this is actually pretty......boring.

Some of us did find the Franken recount process gripping. It was a great opportunity to look into the system of voting and the challenges in delivering such a system. Especially observing what worked and what didn't and how to improve it.

The cute girls posture is just horrific. She definitely got the Mr Burns thing going on there. Reminds me to sit up straight when I'm at the computer.

If you ended up with Santorum from just eating Mexican.... I'm going to venture you're doing it, at least slightly, wrong.

Roy_G_Biv: Shaggy_C: This is your taxpayer money and union dues at work.

This is actually exactly why choosing representatives like Scott Walker is to be avoided. Once the taxes are collected, you do not get to pick and choose where your portion of the money goes. I would have loved to say my taxes go to welfare and infrastructure programs but do not support the wars. Or that they support armor for the soldiers but not building ineffective weapons platforms. But I recognize that the lack of that discretion is part of the social contract when living here. The only way to try and counter that is to choose better representatives who utilize the power and money as effectively and productively as possible.

2012-01-20 02:10:43 PM
I bet the guy in the back corner is looking at porn. He looks like the kind of guy who'd do that at work.

Because the unions don't like him and will waste everyone's time and money to recall him. Fark them!

The only way to try and counter that is to choose better representatives who utilize the power and money as effectively and productively as possible.

He was. That's why these scum are trying to recall him. If you'd rather have taxe rates increased to pay for the excessive bennies for public sector workers, you should probably simply move across the border to Illinois. I hear that's working out really great for them.

Roy_G_Biv: Shaggy_C: This is your taxpayer money and union dues at work.

1) He outlawed Government unions. You'd think they would take it lying down?

2) Almost more people signed the petition then actually voted for him.

3) Perfectly legal way of running a democracy.

2012-01-20 02:16:33 PM
Did they have to hire some of those people? Maybe Walker finally created some jobs!

2012-01-20 02:18:19 PM
It was gripping. I especially like how, when Franken was down fifty votes, Walker said he should conceed, but when Walker himself was down fifty votes, he didn't.

"Teachers are bilking the system for a luxurious lifestyle" has been an effective message so far. Stay on that.

Roy_G_Biv: If you'd rather have taxe rates increased to pay for the excessive bennies for public sector workers,

Yes, I'm parsing, because I don't think you're being serious at all. But this point comes up and I have never understood why everyone's solution to problems is to remove things. Why don't we ask why our non-union companies can't reach for similar standards and lift ourselves to a better place? Why does the "solution" always have to be "well I'm wallowing in shiat, so I'll pull these folks down in it so they can have a miserable time too!"?

Hmmm these are the quotes in your profile:

"If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest for freedom, go home and leave us in peace. We seek not your council nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams

"When Fascism comes to America, it will come in the guise of Anti-Fascism."

You may want to take them down now as you seem to have changed your principles since when you put them up. Let me know how Scott Walker's palm tastes, I bet it's a little salty since he has been working so many late nights.

How's that working out in Illinois?

Why does the "solution" always have to be "well I'm wallowing in shiat, so I'll pull these folks down in it so they can have a miserable time too!"?

I seem to recall someone referring to that as "having skin in the game".

That sure sounds like being a government employee to me.

"When Fascism comes to America, it will come in the guise of Anti-Fascism."

So, rioting to override the will of the voters and keep the high pay of your government job isn't fascism? And somehow, a public official, duly elected by the people, reducing costly benefits is?

Certainly, if ineffectively implemented in one place with a very short track record, the idea clearly has absolutely no merit. How is it working out for Google? Turns out quite well.

Why does the "solution" always have to be "well I'm wallowing in shiat, so I'll pull these folks down in it so they can have a miserable time too!"?

Right except, the opposite of right, in that the goal of that is that everyone tries to do well because they are in it collectively. Dragging someone else down actually hurts you in that scenario.
