And Obama named one of their execs to run the OMB. But you know, Romney once said he liked firing people.

Whoopty shiat. Doesn't change Romney bragging about firing people.

Democrats have accepted more political donations than Republicans from executives at Bain Capital, complicating the left's plan to attack Mitt Romney for his record at the private-equity firm.

Does not follow. Bain is not under scrutiny for campaign donations.

THIS MEANS SOMETHING

I love how THE LIBERALS are constantly given credit for the attack ads that the Republican primary candidates are putting out against EACH OTHER.

What, the liberal media actually report the facts? Fox doesn't do that.

Executives at major corporations giving their hard-earned money to a political cause is exactly the same thing as executives at a major corporation laying off thousands of workers in order to enrich themselves.

Bain Capital isn't evil. Neither is Romney, actually; this whole kerfuffle needs to go away already.

More proof that Romney is a liberal in disguise.

Morals and standards are nice, but they don't win elections. That either side is angry the other is engaging in underhanded tactics is beyond hilarious.

Except that it doesn't counter the bullshait claim that Romney "created" jobs during his time with Bain.

2012-01-20 11:19:25 AM
Republican candidates: Mitt Romney worked at Bain, a predatory Wall Street firm that made money by dismantling companies and selling them off.

Conservative defense of Romney: Bain Capital employees have given more money to Democratic politicians than to Republican ones.

Brilliant all around, boys.

So Romney is one of Obama's largest campaign contributors. Interesting.

2012-01-20 11:19:56 AM
Democrats could be forced to justify attacking Bain... while accepting campaign funds from the same executives who made the cost-cutting decisions.

What's to justify?

If I think you're a corrupt asshole, I'm still going to take your money if you offer it.

I'd also like to see how much money Bain is giving to the SuperPAC's.

Romney is just a regular guy who worries about getting a pink slip like the rest of us. He loads up the family into the station wagon, straps the dog to the roof, and drives away on vacation.

2012-01-20 11:24:26 AM
Romney has collected more money from Bain Capital employees than any federal candidate since the beginning of 2007, amassing more than $166,000 in contributions. He took more than $84,000 from Bain employees in the first three quarters of 2011.

But just think how convenient this will be to side track the Bain story among conservatives. Some one will talk about Mitt and Bain, then will be interrupted by "Well, we know Bain is bad, have you heard they back Obama". I think that Romney will most likely benefit from the actions of the company he used to own.

Seeing as how Romney has received more money than any other federal candidate...I really don't see why on earth he would want to bring that up.

Romney: "Hey, they gave more combined money to democrats. Those damn liberals"
Everyone: "You received more than anyone else, though."
Romney: "Yes, because I was a great worker and they like me. It is a political donation protected as free speech"
Everyone: "But you just tried to knock democrats for it..."
Romney: "SOCIALISM!"

So the pension funds of unions increase under Bain Capital, and they give money to Democrats, but just IGNORE all of that because a Republican made a lot of money there?

Your politically motivated outrages never cease to make me laugh.

i feel like i'm in wackyland -- people think the Mormon multi-millionaire is a secret liberal/democrat, while the party of Family Values is lining up to vote for the serial adulterer and the actual Family Values candidate is in last place behind the guy who opposes war.

Next thing I know, you'll tell me the Democrat president renewed the Bush tax cuts and escalated the war in Afghanistan.

So if you bring in a plumber to fix a leak and he doesn't know what the fark he's doing, doesn't it make you happy that you can fire him and call a different plumber? Because that is what Romney ACTUALLY said.

Actual quote:

"It also means if you don't like what they do, you can fire them. I like being able to fire people who provide services to me. If someone doesn't give me the good service I need, I'm going to go get somebody else to provide that service to me."

He apparently also really likes hiring skilled people who do a good job. He's the worlds greatest monster....

Mitt Romney has personally profited more from Bain Capital than all Democrats combined. So now what?

You misunderstand me. Mitt will never bring this up himself. Your average 'man on the street' will be bombarded with the Bain is for Obama message until there is a pavlovian response linking Bain to Obama in their minds. They will then inform anyone talking about Bain that they support Obama. Like the 'Obama tax cuts'.

This means that job creators love Democrats, but they're also bad this time because Romneycare so Newt Gingrich is our next president and Barraku Fartbambalamba has to get gay married to a turtle in a FEMA camp.

Why would you have to bribe someone who's already going along with your plan?
