At what point did his pants fall to his ankles, then?

stucka: At what point did his pants fall to his ankles, then?

From the pictures, the pants were around his ankles, as well as around the rest of his legs.

This "hardship" clause for drunk drivers is a bunch of shiatt! I had my license suspended for failing to pay speeding tickets, and I was not allowed work privileges. The laws are assbackward.

I suspect they modified the status of his pants to protect his modesty.

Lancaster, MA? Had to look that up in google maps.

Anything outside of the 495 beltway doesn't count.

They should have had him approach the bench upon that request and given him a swift kick in the balls.

"When I arrived on scene he was unconscious on the hood of his car, his pants were around his ankles," says Westborough Police officer Steve Reale. He had also vomited on himself.

Meh, this is what I do on Tuesdays.

2012-01-20 10:46:09 AM
"I'm actually surprised and shocked he made it to where he was without an accident," said officer Reale.

You're shocked? Really? The sad fact is that every day people manage to drive home drunk without getting into an accident.

They've lost sight of their small town values now that Stephen King almost mentioned them in a book.

...After he failed three sobriety tests he said, "I'm having a really bad night."

Sounds like a pretty good night to me.

The 33-year-old town administrator refused a breathalyzer and was arrested. Under Melanie's Law he should have lost his license for 180 days, but he's been granted a hardship license which allows him to drive.

It's nice to have power isn't it? So much for Melanie's law.

The law is named "Melanie's law" after the 13-year-old Melanie Powell, who was killed in an accident caused by a repeat drunk driver two years ago.

I usually assume any law named after a person's first name is reactionary and silly. If you can't pass a law based on its merit's, it is bullshiat to attach some child's name to it for sympathy.

He was at a strip club in Worcester, lives in Lancaster, and got picked up in Westborough? I don't know where he was going, but he wasn't going home.

Ooba Tooba

Owe money and you lose your license forever, no discretion. Being dangerous is negotiable. That's standard around the United States.

TFA: To make matters worse, police say Pacheco drove drunk from a strip club in Worcester all the way to a Mobil station on Route 9 in Westborough until he couldn't drive anymore.

Not a great road to drive drunk on. Route 9 is high speed with stop lights. Miss a red light and there's a good chance of a serious accident.

The 33-year-old town administrator refused a breathalyzer and was arrested.

Technically in Massachusetts the arrest comes first. The law says people arrested for DUI are obliged to incriminate themselves. In many other states the law says people suspected of DUI are obliged to incriminate themselves.

I sympathize. The hood is nice, cold & inviting to a drunken face. As long as you aren't all drunk & sweaty & get the flagpole/tounge effect. Then the cops show up & you get half of your face ripped off when the mulletheads throw you on the pavement. But they are not responsible in a court of law, so you get to live your life as a cheap Harvey Dent knock-off, riding the bus with people staring at your disfigured face until you get off to your night stocking job at the local HEB. The end.

Maybe he was taking Rt 9 to 135 or 495.
