The good news: Google+ hits 90 million users. The bad news: and by "users", we mean everyone who opened a page, looked around, shrugged and never came back

Google+ ? Oh you mean that thing on my home page I cant seem to get rid of? Yea I try to ignore it but its starting to make even Bing look better and better every day. I thought it was just some sort of adware to avoid, yer saying they did that on purpose?

Google has way more products than Google+. "Products" can mean youtube, gmail, G+, or even just the default search page if you leave your account logged in by default.
Its typical marketing bullshiat.

I absolutely love Google+, on it every day D:
The connectivity of all Google products, the ability to control the feed on the main page for specific circles, privacy that actually works, and so far none of the drama that Facebook provided. I'm also incredibly amused by the facial recognition they're implementing with the photographs. As well, I can easily access my pictures on G+ through Picasa and have the desktop uploader sync to specific folders on my computer. Tell me what Facebook has done other than allowing more irritating game invites, implementing a convoluted timeline "feature" and skewing privacy controls?
Perhaps I'm just a Google fan-child, but I do believe if people gave it an honest effort they'd love it too ._.

Yeah, this. My university uses Gmail for university email. I need to check my student e-mail everyday. Thus, I am a Google+ user that uses a Google product everyday, even though I haven't looked at my Google+ page in months.

I love Google+ and all the tools, too, but the problem is that a social network is only as good as the number of people using it. If all my friends would switch to G+, I would be perfectly happy to leave Facebook forever... but they won't, so what's the point in sitting over there all by my damn self? Google did a good job with G+ as far as functionality and making up for FB's short-comings, but if peoples' social networks aren't actually moving over there, you can't blame those people for not switching. There has to be some kind of sea change in G+'s favor if they want it to take off, and I haven't seen it happen yet.

I'm the 90 million. I've logged on 3 or 4 times.
We use K9 software on the computer the kids use at home to filter web traffic. I noticed about a month ago that we are getting "blocked" alerts from Google+ trying to phone home from all kinds of non-Google pages. I haven't figured out if it's some sort of cookie they pushed out or if they are
getting
paying
other sites to insert code to let Google+ figure out how to market things to me on my page.
Anyway, it's farking annoying.

I agree, it's frustrating. It's happening slowly though. I posted on my now deceased Facebook that I would no longer be returning, so go to G+ or forever forget about me. It convinced a fair amount of people to come over too! I had to hammer out all the reasons why it's amazing to some, and then they believed me about switching over lol.

I've switched over to duckduckgo, and except for the lack of image searches, I'm very happy with it. I'm growing more and more wary of google, so I'm switching to duckduckgo for searches, skype instead of google voice for phone calls and texts, and a friend's server (like, a real server not an old box in the corner of a room) for e-mail.

Even if I'm a dollar sign, so what? In this day and age, most things are about money which I've come to terms with and have since moved on. I'm fairly affectionate to my email service, my image hosting, and video streaming services. Nothing wrong to be infatuated with something you spend so much time with ;]

The only reason anyone who A: isn't a narcissist, B: has a career, and C: has a "real world" social life, would actually have a facebook account is...because it's the only way they can keep in touch with their narcissist friends who don't make any effort to maintain real relationships. The only reason I have FB at all is because it functions as a living rolodex keeping contact information for old friends & family up to date.
