I O K I Y A R
Weaver95: As I watch the media circus surrounding Marianne Gingrich's interview regarding her relationship with her ex-husband and GOP candidate, Newt Gingrich, I am once again reminded of the double standard afforded to the Democrats and Barack Obama in particularhey - the Republicans made 'family values' their core message. it's perfectly valid to see just how dedicated they actually ARE to their own values. it's not the media's fault that the GOP frontrunners are a bunch of slimy, skeezy lyin' cheating hypocritical sons of biatches. they just reported what they found.

Code_Archeologist: unlikely: How hard is that to understand?IOKIYAR! What is so hard to understand about that?
unlikely: If I were to run on a "change the oil in your car yourself" platform, then photos of me at Oil Can Henry's would be relevant and the media should report on it.If I were to represent myself as the "go vegan or go home" candidate, a film of me enjoying a steak would be relevant and the media should report on it.If I were to run as a Christian candidate, the records of my donations to and leadership in the United Church of Dagon and Baal would be relevant and the media should report it.These would not be trivial distractions, they would be things that the people to whom I was lying would want to know. How hard is that to understand?
sigdiamond2000: Furthermore, rumors abound regarding additional messages that may or may not have been openly shared at the dinner in Obama's presence. Ted Belman reported at Israpundit that he has a reliable source that "the audio tape clearly picks up the toast 'death to Israel'." Did Obama drink to the death of an American ally that he has been actively intimidating, browbeating, and dissing since he phoned Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on his first day in office? Some say "yes."

imapirate: I'm A-OK with the implications of another Obama term.
I_C_Weener: imapirate: I'm A-OK with the implications of another Obama term.Frankly, I don't think Obama has any idea what he's planning to do next term. He seems like he blew his wad in the first two years and hasn't had much of an idea since then to implement.

hubiestubert: The media's time would instead be far better spent in obsessing over well debunked "birth certificate" stories instead? Here's a clue, kids: if you champion yourself as a "values" candidate, and are schtupping someone on the side whilst trying to shame a President out of office, maybe folks wouldn't notice the affair so much.If you obsess about a Congresscritter who took a picture of his clothed junk, yet discussing documented infidelities, and a pattern of infidelities, and that is somehow taboo when it's "your" side? Here's a hint: it's bad no matter who does it. If you want to reclaim any sort of moral or ethical center, you can't just say, "Bu-bu-bu-but the other guys do it too, an' besides we stand for the sanctity of marriage" and then toss those vows out the window when one of "your own" wanders. Hold yourselves to a higher standard and you might see folks at least respect the position. You can't decry moral relativism and then try to hide behind at the same time. It's not Quantum Political Superposition, it's hypocrisy.Don't be a f*cking hypocrite, and then maybe folks might respect the position at least. If you want to take the moral high ground, you have to actually occupy that territory first.Occupy that. Then we can talk. You whining, puling cowards...
