it seems fairly obvious to me that this sopa is going to die an early death soon. The sponsor, Marco Rubio, a republican has backed off big time, in Illinois Senator Kirk, another Repub is bailing. This is pretty much a DOA thing.

Obama won't miss the contributions from the MPAA. He gets more than enough from his Wall Street cronies. You know, those guys who loan the money to the entertainment industry like all of the MPAA members.

In addition, any lost Hollywood support could be made up with votes and dollars from the tech community, which is lobbying the issue just as aggressively.

Wouldn't that be something to see? The tech community is finally realizing that they have both the numbers and the dollars to be a forcing function in politics. Let's make this happen.
