"One should know his norm -- once he's drunk three litres it's time to calm down and stop," Putin said.

Three liters? That much beer in one sitting, and I'm puking 'cause I'm over full. 3 liters of booze? I'm probably dead.

remember it's not 3 Liter american beer we are talking about, but
Russian
beer.
So 3 Liter is a lot of alcohol for a couple hour...
Still surprised it's not vodka

3 liters?? Come on, that's nothing! Of course, I'm going by the "liter mugs" at the local beer garden, and assuming that they are indeed actually 1 liter each mug.
/Wait, I remember losing count after 2, so maybe 3 is a lot.

he's finally (properly) giving the U.S. the gold medals from the 1972 Olympic basketball final game?

"It would not necessarily trigger a wave of alcohol abuse and mayhem in the bleachers," one fan said, adding that "they sell beer at stadiums in Europe and elsewhere".
Yeah, God knows there's
never
any mayhem at football stadiums in Europe. Or South America. Or anywhere else.

Beer?!? Pshhh...those farkers drink Vodka like it's Sparklett's Water...surprised they don't have 5-gallon jugs of it in every office break-room, or convenient vending machines stocked with 20oz bottles for when you're out and about.
Beer probably seems like a joke to them.

Yeah...three liters of балтика 10 will sit you down pretty quick. Used to get it at the airport terminal when I was deployed to Bishkek because it was stronger than anything they served at the cantina on base.

If only he would, but he's way too nationalistic and probably yearning for the "old days" to ever do that.

Am I wrong or should that be "egregious errors"? Grievous errors doesn't sound right.

This may be a shock to you, so brace yourself. Not everyone drinks to get drunk. Some of us drink because we enjoy the taste. And sometimes we don't like to drink the same thing every day.
And sometimes we brew/distill our own alcohol because want to try something new or catered to our own tastes. Crazy, I know but true.

hmm lesse here: 3l ~ 3 quarts= 96 oz of beer? Most I ever drank at one sitting (in a deliberate attempt to get drunk to find out what it would take to do so-the kinda stupid stuff you do when you are 18) was 18 12oz cups of beer= 216 oz in about an hour. I recall thinking I wsn't even drunk, though witnesses beg to differ. I tend to believe them inasmuch as my last act of the night was to throw a nearly 400 Lb dormmate into a piggyback carry on my back and walk the six blocks home. A feat I'm quite sure I've never been capbable of before or since.

It's 6 beers in almost two hours (90 + stoppage + halftime). I think most people are at least feeling it by 6, and some people are flat out drunk.
They would be better off changing the start times if they are worried about drunks. These 6 beers don't account for everything you drank at the pub next to the stadium and on the walk there.

After reading the 3 litres quote and pairing it with his great quote at that Russian hip-hop show where he said "I do not think that 'top-rock' or 'down-rock' breakdance technique is compatible with alcohol or drugs," I feel bad being amused by this man. He's like a personable Kim Jong Il, the only totalitarian who could be on the Daily Show.
