2012-01-20 03:35:11 AM
This will not end well.

I hope it is Ivan Drago, he should have never done Apollo like that. It was a disgrace.

2012-01-20 04:08:21 AM
I thought he was going to give back the Gold Medal for Men's Basketball, but that was the USSR.

Their space program?

"One should know his norm -- once he's drunk three litres it's time to calm down and stop," Putin said.

Lightweight.

Three liters? That much beer in one sitting, and I'm puking 'cause I'm over full. 3 liters of booze? I'm probably dead.

2012-01-20 06:52:02 AM
remember it's not 3 Liter american beer we are talking about, but Russian beer.
So 3 Liter is a lot of alcohol for a couple hour...
Still surprised it's not vodka

2012-01-20 07:54:28 AM
Putin puttin' in the god word about Beer. Hooray, Putin

2012-01-20 08:03:55 AM
3 liters?? Come on, that's nothing! Of course, I'm going by the "liter mugs" at the local beer garden, and assuming that they are indeed actually 1 liter each mug.

/Wait, I remember losing count after 2, so maybe 3 is a lot.

2012-01-20 08:28:57 AM
he's finally (properly) giving the U.S. the gold medals from the 1972 Olympic basketball final game?

swankywanky: he's finally (properly) giving the U.S. the gold medals from the 1972 Olympic basketball final game?

This was my immediate thought as well. Bah.

2012-01-20 08:37:27 AM
Is he going to give back the gold medals for basketball from the '72 Olympics? No? Ok.

2012-01-20 08:42:35 AM
I thought he'd start a school for basketball clock keepers

"It would not necessarily trigger a wave of alcohol abuse and mayhem in the bleachers," one fan said, adding that "they sell beer at stadiums in Europe and elsewhere".

Yeah, God knows there's never any mayhem at football stadiums in Europe. Or South America. Or anywhere else.

Beer?!? Pshhh...those farkers drink Vodka like it's Sparklett's Water...surprised they don't have 5-gallon jugs of it in every office break-room, or convenient vending machines stocked with 20oz bottles for when you're out and about.

Beer probably seems like a joke to them.

Yeah...three liters of балтика 10 will sit you down pretty quick. Used to get it at the airport terminal when I was deployed to Bishkek because it was stronger than anything they served at the cantina on base.

srhp29: I thought he was going to give back the Gold Medal for Men's Basketball, but that was the USSR.

If only he would, but he's way too nationalistic and probably yearning for the "old days" to ever do that.

2012-01-20 09:29:26 AM
Am I wrong or should that be "egregious errors"? Grievous errors doesn't sound right.

On-topic:

Yay, for Russia? I guess. I don't know. Will this affect my alcohol supply?

2012-01-20 09:29:56 AM
So FIFA forced his hand.

Putin, turn in your man card. That's your second violation.

This may be a shock to you, so brace yourself. Not everyone drinks to get drunk. Some of us drink because we enjoy the taste. And sometimes we don't like to drink the same thing every day.

And sometimes we brew/distill our own alcohol because want to try something new or catered to our own tastes. Crazy, I know but true.

hmm lesse here: 3l ~ 3 quarts= 96 oz of beer? Most I ever drank at one sitting (in a deliberate attempt to get drunk to find out what it would take to do so-the kinda stupid stuff you do when you are 18) was 18 12oz cups of beer= 216 oz in about an hour. I recall thinking I wsn't even drunk, though witnesses beg to differ. I tend to believe them inasmuch as my last act of the night was to throw a nearly 400 Lb dormmate into a piggyback carry on my back and walk the six blocks home. A feat I'm quite sure I've never been capbable of before or since.

It's 6 beers in almost two hours (90 + stoppage + halftime). I think most people are at least feeling it by 6, and some people are flat out drunk.

They would be better off changing the start times if they are worried about drunks. These 6 beers don't account for everything you drank at the pub next to the stadium and on the walk there.

That's a soccer problem, not a beer problem, imho

"Alcohol abuse is a major problem in Russia, where more than half of all deaths among people aged 15 to 54 are caused by alcohol, according to the international medical journal The Lancet."

Holy fark, really?

Putin on the Schlitz?

After reading the 3 litres quote and pairing it with his great quote at that Russian hip-hop show where he said "I do not think that 'top-rock' or 'down-rock' breakdance technique is compatible with alcohol or drugs," I feel bad being amused by this man. He's like a personable Kim Jong Il, the only totalitarian who could be on the Daily Show.

What kind of pussy drinks beer in Russia? It's all about that non-methanol denatured alcohol.

/Bittering agents is an acquired taste.

No, but he will send him video footage of the ring.

Silly Putin, you can't un-pull the goalie now, the 80 Olympic hockey's over.
